"User Not Found" error while using the Office 365 "get user Profile (V2)"

Hi All,

 

I'm experiencing an error with the "Get user profile" function of the Office 365 flows. Essentially what's happening is its just saying "user not found" I'm wondering if anyone else has ever encountered this and what you did to fix it as I work in a company and am making a system where users can fill out a form and get approval for work trips via email, however this is stopping me from getting it done. Any ideas?

If form submitted is external user, then "Get user profile" would not be able to get the information.

Hi @RClarke_ 

 

You could check if "Anyone can respond" setting is enabled for the form. If yes, then change it to "Only people in <org> can respond" (second option) as target audience are internal user (within organization):

Pls retest the flow after modifying the form submitter settings.

Hi @RClarke_ 

 

Pls make sure you pass an email address or id of a user in "Get user profile" action. This action will retrieve the details of a user present in Azure AD. Pls share the screenshot(s) of the flow in edit mode.

Are you triggering the get user profile v2 from an app or a stand-alone flow?  Is the user an external/guest user or standard user?

 

If triggering from an app and you have issues with the connector, perhaps you can use the User().Email function or User().DisplayName to get relevant user data. Alternatively you can try the Entra ID connector and use the Get User action to see if that works.

This is what the flow looks like, I just pull the responders email from the form submission and use that dynamic flow, so I don't believe it can be an issue with having the email address of the user set in the UPN.

I'm doing the action from a standalone flow and the user is a standard user, hence why im stumped but ill try those alternative solutions.

Hi Manish,

 

The user is an internal user, however after some more digging I realised in the error code that the user UPN is identified as anonymous, could this have any part in the reason that it isn't working?

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!    This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
