send Email with options!

Hello Everyone,

Is there a way to save the output result of the email with options on a sharepoint list column somehow? I have a email with option action on my flow with two option yes and no. If the user presses yes or no i want that output to show on a column as yes or no? Is there a way?

Hi @zak15303

When you use the Send Email with Options action, effectively the Flow will pause until it receives a response. Once it received a reply it can then do something with the response. The example below shows the response being used to create a new list item in SharePoint.

Hi MattWeston365,

Your post was great and I was trying to do something similar but I am stuck. This is almost my first post.

Question is - Is there a way to track user's responses in an Excel (Business) file?

Background is - I have multiple people's email ID mentioned in "To" field and I have only 2 choices in "User Options" field. When I try to add an action to add a row in Excel (Business), it does not have field to record user's email ID so I am unable to record user's email, which means I am unable to track which user responded. Can you help with this please?

Thanks in advance!

What If I want to use Send Email with Options action while using Gmail as connector. Then how will proceed to get same result.

Please help.

I don't think that the same features are available for Gmail, and Google services aren't going to integrate like  Microsoft's native services, such as Outlook, Approvals Workflow and OneDrive/SharePoint. And for these approval types of work flows, you and your users are going to need to use accounts in your MS 365 Tenant.

Is there a way to change the contents of the Email Body at multiple places every time an item action is triggered?

Adding columns is not an option because then there will be extra 10-15 columns to accommodate all data.

Hello,

I know the original message is old but I have the same question. I do not want to add a new item to the SharePoint list, I want to update a column. How can I do that?

Use Update Item to update without creating a new item. It allows you to choose the column you want to update.

Thank you @Aimthedame. I keep getting stuck at different stages of this flow. I need the flow to update the particular row of the list that pertains to the MS Form received. I also need to use Manually Trigger a Flow so I can input the specific email addresses of those who need to respond. I don't know how to structure this flow so it can use the form response ID or other information to identify which row to update.

I don't think I understand what you're trying to do. Are you collecting data from more than one form?

I am collecting data from a form that creates a new list item. Then I am sending the form information for review and approval using send email with options. The options will indicate approval, rejection, or table. I'd like to update the list item with the response chosen by the email recipient. It won't always be the same email recipient, which is why I am manually triggering the flow so I can populate the email address. I hope that makes sense.

If there is no logic to who should be emailed (i.e. submitter's manager), the easiest thing to do would be to send the email with options to your email and then forwarding the email with options to the correct person. In that case, the trigger would be When an item is created, Email with options (which you would forward), that person makes a selection, Update Item. This is a screenshot of something similar.

Thank you! That seems like it would work in my situation. How can I mark this as solved so that you get recognized?

I don't think you can because you didn't originate the post. I just stumbled upon your question while looking for something else.

Oh, sorry about that! In any case, thank you for your help.
