2 formulas for 1 property

Hi there, 

I am creating cascading dropdowns (dependent) and I would like it to be that after I select 1 dropdown option, then the 2nd dropdown (to the right of it) appears. 

Without clicking the 1st dropdown, you will not see the 2nd dropdown. 

As of now, I am successfully able to make the 2nd dropdown invisible before I click on the 1st dropdown BUT the inputtext/text box over the dropdown is not dissappearing as wanted. It is not following the 2nd formula below. Please help!

Here are the formulas I am putting in the "Visible" property:

If('Dropdown 1'.Selected.Value="Option1", true , false) || IsBlank('Dropdown 2'.Selected)

**Even though there are NO errors, the 2nd formula does not work and still shows when selecting dropdown 2's options

@SmartUser222_ - as I understand it, the formula you have applied to the Visible property of the 2nd Dropdown is causing it correctly appear/disappear based on whether a selection has been made to the 1st Dropdown.

However, you also have a Text Input control which also contains the same formula, but the Text Input Control is continuing to be displayed?

To clarify, since the dropdowns do not have an input text field, I have put Text labels on top of it to provide that illusion. Ideally, after a user clicks on the dropdown options, the input text/text label would disappear due to the  the formula:  IsBlank('Dropdown 2'.Selected). 

However, that text label is not dissappearing.

What you said is correct and true. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to fix this 🙂

@SmartUser222_ - could you share a screenshot of your app? Is it a Text Label control or a Text Input Control? What is the purpose of placing this control in front of your app? Why is this illusion needed?

As seen in screenshot below, there is a "Region Dropdown" with a Text label control on top. I noticed when you insert a dropdown, you cannot put a HintText like you can with a DataCardValue or a InputTextPlaceholder in a Combo Box. So to mitigate this, I put a text label on top with the formula (IsBlank('Dropdown 2'.Selected)) so it can replicate that effect. 

After you click an option from the first drop down, the second dropdown appears BUT the textlabel on top does not disappear (as seen below)

However, I cannot see what the point is of covering a dropdown control with another control and then hiding it instead of simply using a Combo Box control.

Try applying the below to Visible property of the Dropdown control:

Len('Dropdown 2'.Selected.Value)=0

I tried this and it successful disappeared after clicking on the dropdown 2 options, however, the text still shows before I select a specific option in Dropdown 1.

I know which formulas to use to make the Cluster Text Label dissappear and also reappear when needed. The problem I'm having is that, if I put 2 formulas in the Visible property for the Text label, only 1 formula works and the other doesn't. For example, in your formula: Lens (Dropdown 2.Selected.Value = 0), it works perfectly when I click a value in dropdown 2 but since I want that text label to ONLY show after I click a specific option in dropdown 1, that's the issue. 

Also, I tried using a combo box however I found trouble with patching it so I'm trying to see if I can solve this issue without changing the item itself. Thanks!

@SmartUser222_ - I would use a Combo Box rather than over-complicating your app. If you have issues patching data from a Combo box, raise a question in the forum explaining the issue and someone will respond.

I used a combo box with the same formulas as my previous dropdowns and it's working well!
