Add button in Gallery

I have created a an app which records the time in the edit form with the formula

UpdateContext({CurrentTime2: Now()});UpdateContext({ButtonClicked2: true}) for button

and

If(ButtonClicked2, CurrentTime2, Parent.Default) for text input

How to add the same button in Gallery so that i can edit the list from gallery itself

Hi @aswin12345 ,

Do you want to add a button for each item in gallery, just like the button for a form?

If so, you just need to click the "pen icon" of the gallery before you insert controls.

Like this:

1)click the pen icon5214.PNG

 2)insert->button

Then you will insert button for each item

3)click pen icon

4)insert->textinput

Then you will insert textinput for each item

However, since you have multiple items, so the formula you need to make a little change.

1)set the button's OnSelect:

UpdateContext({CurrentTime2: Now()});Collect(selecteditem, ThisItem)

2)set the textinput's Default:

If(ThisItem in selecteditem, CurrentTime2, ThisItem.'Created On')
//'Created On' is my fieldname, you could change to your field name

 3)set the screen's OnVisible:

Clear(selecteditem)

Then the selected items' textinputs value will be changed to now().

This is not being updated in my sharepoint list

@aswin12345 ,

You did not say what else you were updating in your SharePoint list (or how) - you also seem to be conditionally updating on the basis of whether Button2 is pressed.

This is not going to be difficult - I just need to understand your process.

To start with, if you just want to update a Date/Time field in your SharePoint list when a button is pressed, you would do something like this

UpdateIf(
  YourSPListName,
  ThisItem,
  {YourSPDateField:Now()}
)

You could incorporate this with other fields

UpdateIf(
  YourSPListName,
  ThisItem,
  {
      YourSPDateField:Now()
      YourTextField:YourTextCOntrol.Text
  }
)

and so on for other values you want updated. I have not covered the conditional button press, but is this what you are meaning?

Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.

Hi @aswin12345 ,

Please show me your data source's structure (fieldname, field data type).

Please show me how you set in your app with screen shoots.

My formula works good on my side, I need to know where's your problem.

Thanks @v-yutliu-msft  - pretty much what I asked.

@aswin12345 , happy to continue the discussion if you need me.

I have a button as you can see in the screenshot. I have created a form and on clicking submit on the form the time with other details will be entered in the list. and will be directed to the gallery screen. Here I want a button (the pause/Stop button) which helps me to update a Text field of thisitem, by clicking should update with the now time onselect.

@v-yutliu-msft I tried your method and there are no errors showing but the list is not being updated.

@WarrenBelz I tried your method as well but its showing Error as invalid argument type.

@aswin12345 ,

Mine was only syntax based on what I could interpret from your post, which I could not fully understand.

What is the Items property of the Gallery and what is the name of the field you are trying to update, what type of field is it and what are you wanting to put in it?

Hi @WarrenBelz  thank you for your support i was able to attain that by a simple code of

Patch(TT,ThisItem,{'On-Hold_or_End_time':Now()})

Thank you very much
