Adding a field from another Sharepoint List to a gallery

Hi All, 

I have a gallery called SubProductsGallery which is based on a Sharepoint List called RRF Products

I have another SharePoint list called Products which contains a field called ItemCode which I want to show in the SubProductsGallery (as shown in the pic below)

The link between lists is as follows:

Products        : ID

RRF Products : Product (this is a lookup field to the Products ID value)

I placed a label in the SubProductsGallery with the code: LookUp('Products',ID=SubProductsGallery.Selected.Label5_6).ItemCode

label5_6 is a label i am using to get the Product ID value of the current record in the gallery, as shown highlighted in yellow in pic.

I am getting an error that says: "Incompatible Types for comparison. These types cant be compared: Number, Control"

How can I change the code to be able to put the Item code in each row of the gallery. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @kriscachia 

Based on the LookUp() function it can't compare a Number with a Control. 

Please try this in the LookUp Value:

LookUp('Products',ID=Value(SubProductsGallery.Selected.Label5_6.Text)).ItemCode

Thanks for your post. I tried out the formula and i got a different error as show in the pic: 

I also tried changing the label5_6.Text to .Value since the ID is a number but the same error came 

any ideas?

also would like to add that this subproductsgallery is within the main gallery called templategallerylist1 marked in blue square

the subproductsgallery is then filtering product rows for each RRF ID. Example 173 in pic which in this case only 1 product is listed. The item code needs to be shown in that row basically.

Just thought i should mention the main gallery which contains the subgallery where i need to add the new field. To place things in perspective

Thank you for your explanation. 

This error message means that you refer to the Label text when you want to assign a value to itself.

The lookup needs to be change to something like:

LookUp('Products',ID=ThisItem.Product.Id)).ItemCode

Something like this I don't know the dataset behind the subgallery.

Thank you so much, your post helped me understand that in the subgallery i had to link to the Product.Id value since it is a combo box

the code for it to work is: LookUp('Products',ID=ThisItem.Product.Id).ItemCode

thisitem.product.Id of the dropdown in subgallery is looking into the products list ID to find the item code.
