Allow Fill-in Choice but not Save Value for Future Choices

We have a SharePoint list we use to ship things. It has City, State, Zip, Country, Etc...

The STATE field is setup as a choice, it has all the States from USA.

Some users need to ship things to other countries so they put that countries state etc as a fill in. We realized that we cannot do fill in choices anymore with the PowerApps even though its selected within SharePoint.

I found this code on here that works, but it also saves the value so it can be selected again the future. I now have a bunch of Test options as choices. Test1, Test2, Test3 etc. from when I was testing.

My question is, how do I delete those test choices, and how can I modify this code or maybe there is another way so it doesn't save/show the filled in value in future selections?

This is code I used in the Update field.

Hi @WC-KSTILL 

Your formula is amazing, I never thought we can add custom choice value to sharepoint from PowerApps, It's like opening the door to a new world.

After I test your formula, I find if you enable the 'Can add values manually' option in Choices column property, the custom choices value will show in PowerApps, but if you don't enable it, the dropdown in PowerApps will only list the initial options.

Hence, try to disable the 'Can add values manually' option to see if your issue is fixed.

This is a Choice Column that has some prefilled choices already.

Yes, go to disabled "Allow 'Fill-in' choices" option in SharePoint.

After doing this, the user cannot manually add choices now. I want them to be able to manually be able to submit new choices (if not in prefilled choices) but for them not to be in the list of future prefilled choices.

So I was able to figure it out with your suggestion. I had to "Allow searching" on the PowerShell side.

This works great! You can also simplify those if's into one function & eliminate the '@odata.type' property and it works too / looks simpler:

@Anonymous is there anyway to alter the formula to allow for populating both Selected and SearchText for a multiple select column?
