App Data not refreshed but excel is updated

Hi all.

Below is the scenario.

Created a simple form app using Canvas App linking to an excel file in OneDrive.

Adding new record to the table has no issue at all.

After adding, new record is shown in the browse screen.

But when i am editing/updating a record, after saving the changes.

No error message is shown. but under browse screen and detail screen, is still showing old data.

But inside edit screen is showing the updated data. 

Checked the excel file, data is also updated.

Tried adding Refresh(Table1) inside OnSuccess for EditForm1 and also added Refresh(Table1) inside OnVisible() of Browse screen does not help.

Any one has any idea on how to resolve this? 

I did not run into this issue when using the same set up for DataVerse.

What is the Item of your Form ? Also do you have a unique identifier in your Excel Table ?

For BrowseGallery,

For DetailForm,

For EditForm,

The excel table has this additional column created by PowerApps when creating the App using the <Create App from Excel> option.

It seems like the data is logged inside the EditForm of Edit screen.

After updating the record, App will go to BrowseGallery (showing old data).

I click on that record to go to DetailForm, still showing old data.

Click edit on DetailScreen, go to EditScreen, then data is the updated value.

But if I choose other records from BrowseGallery->DetailForm->EditForm, then go back and choose the record which I had updated, EditForm will show the old data.

Although the Excel file is still having the new value/data shown in the table.

Is like the updated table/data is not refreshed,  when EditForm.Mode = Edit, while it is updated when Mode = New.

I was hoping to see something in there, but cannot, other than it is a fairly complex filter for Excel (which is not a good data source at the best of times).

Try breaking it down without the filter and then the search and sort see if it refreshes.

thank you @WarrenBelz for the advice.

But after i simplify it to just only a search function, the value displayed is still the old value.

Interestingly, when I look at the Debug screen, the value is actually the new value. But BrowseGallery apparently still have an 'old' instance of the record and displayed that instead.

As shown above, data inside Table1 for Work_x0020_Done = 34 [New value]

But the value shown in the list of BrowseGallery is 346 [Old value].

The item code is referenced using ThisItem,'Work Done',

Other items in the gallery is showing their respective correct value. I.e. ThisItem.'Work Done' should be getting value from Table1 for each record and list out in the BrowseGallery.

Is there a way to purge BrowsGallery cache or 'ghost' records?

Maybe consider SharePoint as a Data Source  - I do not use Excel, so have not done any debugging.

Hi, did you find out what the problem was? I have the exact same problem, except, this 'just happened' with me. The same apps I have been using for months without any problems, suddenly started with the same issue as listed. I suspect this is a Microsoft problem, as I have not made any changes to the apps whatsoever.

I am living with the issue. Luckily, my user wont change the values so frequently. So this 'bug' is not obvious to my users, except that when I am testing the app, it is pretty apparent that the data in the 'temp app' is not refreshing as it should be.
