App in mobile app not loading

I've got an issue where an app within my mobile app is not loading.  I have 2 separate apps within my mobile platform and I can confirm one will load and work fine.  The other will not load at all.  The app in question loads and plays absolutely fine through the desktop version but I can't get it to load at all in the mobile app.  The data connection points that show in the details screen of the app within the mobile version act like they are trying to connect but they never do.  I've tried republishing under a different version, signing out of the app and signing back in, clearing cache and nothing works.  Any help?

Are you using PowerApps official app or just loading from a native browser on your mobile?

If PowerApps official app,

    1. Double-check the connection as they might not be properly configured for your device:

     2. If it doesn't work, re-install the app

 

If Mobile Brower,

    1. double check that only your account for that app's organization is logged in

 

Also, maybe check the wifi, and try to switch to another wifi as unstable wifi may prevent a connection from successfully completing.

@cha_cha @So I’ve re-installed the app, switched wi-fi and I’m signed in correctly.  I have narrowed it though I think.  The app that is working correctly is just connected to SharePoint, but the app that will not load is connected to power automate and SharePoint.

Glad it got narrowed down. Can you check the OnStart property part of the app and check what data it might be retrieving? If there's a lot of code you can disable each and enable each part one by one to see which may cause it.

 

If your answer to the above is No, then try modifying the StartScreen. Create a new screen and add it as the value for the StartScreen. Just add a button to this new screen and when clicked it will navigate to your actual main/home screen. This is just to check if the home screen may contain some functions that's preventing the app to load.

@cha_cha ok so I have the property StartScreen set to my gallery page.  I've changed that setting to a different page, published and no change.  I might be missing something very basic but i'm not sure where to find the OnStart property, I am a fairly new user just fyi.  Also, a bit more information here.....I have tried to embed the app into a SharePoint page itself, though when the app tries to load there, I get an error like this, "This App isn't opening correctly, It looks like permission issues were encountered while opening the app".

 

I've embedded the app that works and loads fine on the mobile platform, within the same sharepoint page and it loads and works just fine on the SharePoint Page.

 

Again the app the isn't loading, just says "opening" on the mobile platform but never opens, as indicated by my last attachments, and this is the same app I tried to imbed within a SharePoint page.

 

I've checked permissions of the SharePoint data list that is connected to the non-loading app and I've got Full Control permissions within those.

I'm a bit out of the idea for your case, it might be best to start filling a request for this to Microsoft Support so they can check your environment:

They can access logs or check things that might have not thought of

@cha_cha Thanks for the help!  I never did find that OnStart property though, just the StartScreen.  I didn't know about the support ticket availability so thank you for mentioning that.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!   This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
