App will not load in 'creation' mode

Hi,

My App suddenly won't let me edit it within the creation mode. It just loads blank screens. However it is still working in live mode.

This seems to be a bug with this one app as others load fine. Please help!!

We're having the same problem.

Yesterday the app I've been working on wouldn't render for editing in Classic mode, so I had to turn it off and use the SaveAs trick because File-Save wasn't working. After that I was able to edit my app for several hours (lots of saving & publishing), and it was working fine when I left the office last night.

This morning it's no longer rendering in either Edit nor Normal/Play mode, and File-Save isn't working again either. Tried SaveAs and still had the same issue, so I turned Classic mode back on and did another SaveAs and it finally worked again.

Has anyone put a ticket in with MS or received an acknowledgement of this bug from MS yet? I don't want to open any of our existing apps in edit mode, lest they start needing this toggle Classic mode and SaveAs dance every day too...

Hi @Anonymous,

Could you please share a screenshot about this issue within your app?

I have made a test on my side and don't have the issue that you mentioned.

Please take a try to clear cache of your browse, and then re-open your app in creation mode, check if the issue is solved. Please also check if you have made these controls invisible within the screen (Set Visible property to false), if yes, please set Visible property of these controls to true.

In addition, you could also take a try to enable/turn on "Render in classic mode" option within Advanced Settings of App settings (App settings-> Advanced Settings-> "Render in classic mode"), then check if the issue is solved.Test1.gif

If the issue still exists, please consider take a try to re-create your app, check if the issue is solved on your side.

Best regards,

Kris

Hi,

Thanks for the response. No problem with visibility. This is across all screens - nothing loads at all.

The APP is already in classic mode. Tried clearing cookies and cache, no help.

I cannot 'Rebuild' the app. This has taken 3 days work!!! Not really a solution unfortunately.

I think I may be having the same issue with one of my apps.

The app loads a blank screen in edit mode, but functions fine when running it outside of edit mode. I worked on the app for some hours opening and closing it, but suddenly it did not want to load anymore. Restoring a previous version does not seem to resolve it.

Saving the app under a different name did resolve it for the renamed app. When "saving as" the renamed app, overwriting the orginal app, it fixed the original app as well. So at least it works again, for now...

I am facing the same issue. My app took 3 months already to be build. There is totally no way to rebuild it 😉

In my case cleaning cache/ refreshing the app/ setting classic mode makes no change. App is not loading fully, parts of interface are, but connections are not, as well as variables. Some groups seem to be broken and ungroupped. It is a disaster!

Latest published version seems to be working fine, however I cannot open it for editing 😞

In my case this error happens for:

1. PowerApps version: 3.18072.29

2. Data sources are SharePoint lists

3. Confirmed under Chrome and Edge.

Regards,

Tomasz

You're my hero! It works. It made my app being editable again. Thanks!

Tomasz

Thank you so much the below worked after saving backwards and forwards... However ridiculous that had to be done.

I logged a ticket as "Priotiy" and they are yet to work out what the issue was. Will post back in here if resolution /diagnosis is found.

Slightly concerning how random this was and how if I hadn't of had the comments from yourself I would STILL be sitting with an un-editable app!!!!

this has been happening to me for months. I really need to make updates to my app. It will not allow me to make any changes.
