BUG : Form.LastSubmit not stored in variable

Hello everyone,

I have encountered a very strange bug yesterday. I'm submitting a form and storing the LastSubmit of this form in a variable. I've tried with 2 different apps, with different Sharepoints lists, nothing is working. The form is submitted, the record is added to the Sharepoint List but I can't use the LastSubmit variable.

The test app and its code :

Translation : "Name isn't valid. "ID" isn't recognized"

Seems like a Microsoft Bug, I've tried everything I could think off
Any help or idea would be highly appreciated

FYI i handed the problem over to my IT Management and one of the guys there had the same problem, so it might be a specific problem on my company's side.

For now, i'm using a temporary solution, which is to not use a variable and to directly use the "Form1.LastSubmit". It's not optimised, but at least, it is working for the time being

Hey @Madra ,

did you try looking directly at the variable?

You can do this here:

Let me know what you found there.

Was it working before?

Good idea @DBO_DV

Now, that's really weird

There is something in the variable (we can see the test2 on the left) mais nothing is displayed on the main screen on the right

It was working fine for 3 years, until yesterday. I created a new app, couldn't update my recElement variable, investigated and found out i couldn't even on others apps

Okay can you try to put this variable into a gallery? it shows a table. Maybe we can see the Data in there.

It's not a table, it's only a record.

I added it as the item of another form and i actually get the data in the form.

But when i highlight the variable in the code, it still says that it is empty, and i still can't retreive its data in a label.

I also get that message when i reload the app, not sure if it is relevant but there you go :

Okay could you try renaming your variable.

I have this problem sometimes. If the schema or something in the variable changes it blocks sometimes because the old version of the variable is still saved somewhere. If you just go ahead and rename it everywhere the problem could be solved.

You can try to rename it with the code function that is in preview. it will probably be way faster then searching and replacing.

you can take the code from a whole screen at once.

I renamed it ro "recTest", still the same issue :

Hi @Madra
To test if the variable actually problem, do this add this  OnSuccess of the form and submit

Set(gblCaptureRecord,Self.LastSubmit);

and use this on a label

gblCaptureRecord.ID

Also you can use gblCaptureRecord Form Item property

Thank you

Thank you.

Can I ask what you meant with when you "Highlight the variable"?

do you think you could try to collect last submit into a collection instead of a variable. since it is a record you could use ClearCollect everytime and always use First() to get the only record back existing. Maybe we will get more insights about what exactly is failing out of it.

Since we already did what @Ramole suggested  this would be the next step.

Sorry, this is what i meant by highlight :

And as you can see, i have the same problem with collections
