Bring signature if you already have in the Dataverse

Today when editing the form, the signature field is empty for new signature, and this cannot happen because the user may want to change another field and end up losing the signature.

How can I bring the signature if it exists?

@Deivid, The InputPen Control can't take an Image value to answer "There is no way to bring the image that is on the View page (if any) in PenInput?"

That is why you will have to use the Image Control when you have a record that has a Signature.

  • But you can add the signature to the new/modified record if there is a signature.
  •  To help you with the Lookup, I need to Understand the Text on the Form 🙂
  • The Edit Form.Item >> Has a record, let say this record has an Employee Name or Employee ID. You Lookup will search the whole table for an Employee Name/ID that has a Value in the Signature Column. >>>
  • LookUp(tbl_empresas; ID=ThisItem.EmployeeID && !IsBlank('Rubrica NR01))
  • >>'Rubrica NR01= Signature Column Name ???
  • For the Visible Propert it will be based on the result of the Lookup:
  • If(!IsBlank(LookUp(tbl_empresas; ID=ThisItem.EmployeeID && !IsBlank('Rubrica NR01')).'Rubrica NR01.Full),true,false)
  • TRUE>> Show Image Control >> Hide InputPen Control
  • TRUE>> Image Control Value =LookUp(tbl_empresas; ID=ThisItem.EmployeeID && !IsBlank('Rubrica NR01')).'Rubrica NR01.Full
  • TRUE>> the Signiture Data Card Update Value = LookUp(tbl_empresas; ID=ThisItem.EmployeeID && !IsBlank('Rubrica NR01')).'Rubrica NR01.Full

The main direction @AhmedSalih  gave me, with this, it was possible to achieve the objective of the ticket.

But, to make the configuration clearer, follow:

1.CardDetail1.CardDetail

2.ImageDetail2.ImageDetail

3.CardEdit3.CardEdit

4.ImageEdit14.ImageEdit1

5.ImageEdit25.ImageEdit2

6.PenEdit6.PenEdit

Hey!

You can not have a "default" in a pen input.

You can always have an image that show the signature (if it exists). If not or if the user wants to "re-write" the signature, you have that pen input

Hello, @Deivid, so the Edit Form control is in Edit Mode and the Signature Value is Blank? You will have to use the Lookup() function in the Default value of your Signature control to retrieve the existing signature from Dataverse.

  1. Where do you save the previous signature?
  2. What is the format if the saved previous signature?

Hi @Nogueira1306,

I currently have an image on the view screen that brings the signature, my difficulty is precisely in editing

Hi @AhmedSalih,

Yes, edit mode and blank signature.

  1. Saved in the tbl_empresas
  2. The format is image

LookUp I did to try, but it did not work:

DataCardValue368.Image is the field that appears the image on the view screen.

@Deivid, you will have to add two controls to your Data Card:

  1. The PenInput to Enter New Signature in case there are no signature in file.
  2. Image Control to show the Signature in File when Exist.
  3. The Visible property of both controls will be set according to the result of a Lookup function that check if THISITEM has a signature in the Data Source.
  4.  If(IsBlank(Lookup(tbl_empresas; ID=ThisItem.ID, 'Rubrica NR01')),true,false) << InputPen.Visible
  5. If(IsBlank(Lookup(tbl_empresas; ID=ThisItem.ID, 'Rubrica NR01')),false,true) << Image.Visible
  6. NOTE: I am making up the ID part, you need to lookup with whatever value you have.
  7. Then the Update property of the Data Card will be dynamically set: If the Image Control is Visible, Update= Lookup(tbl_empresas; ID=ThisItem.ID, 'Rubrica NR01'). Or if the InputPen is visible, get the value of the InputPen.Image

Hi @AhmedSalih,

There is no way to bring the image that is on the View page (if any) in PenInput? I think about the possibility that the client wants to change the password after having saved the signature, as it seems to me that if there is already a signature, it will always bring up the old signature as an image instead of PenInput in Edit mode.

I did some tests in the Default field on the Editing Screen on the PenInput card to bring it straight to it, for now, without success:

  • LookUp(tbl_empresas;ThisItem.'Rubrica NR01'.Full = DataCardValue368.Image).'Rubrica NR01'.Full
  • LookUp(tbl_empresas;ThisItem.'Rubrica NR01'.Full = 'Rubrica NR01_DataCard1'.Default).'Rubrica NR01'.Full
  • LookUp(tbl_empresas; ThisItem.'Rubrica NR01'.Full = crdd5_rubricanr01.Full).'Rubrica NR01'.Full

Depending on the path we're going to follow (if we're going to use the Visible property or bring the image directly to PenInput), please help me to assemble the correct Lookup. Here are images for that:

Hi @AhmedSalih,

We're almost there, the vast majority of things have been working perfectly.

What I noticed that it doesn't work correctly is, when I click to add a new record, the PenInput is empty, I don't move it and save the form, with that, the PenInput no longer appears, it's as if I had already signed it, but is blank.

Here's how it's done:
