[Bug] Screens with data table have javascript error in editor

Hi, I have been developing a PowerApps application for sometime and now in the debug stage so the code is freezed.

But since last week something wrong happened, when I select two of the screens that contains data table the PowerApps editor page will crash:

1.png

and there are javascript error as below: (Cannot read property 'showAddFieldMessage' of null)
2.png

I have tried Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, all have the same problem. Tried different PC and same problem occurred.

SharePoint lists are the data source. Nothing special in the tables, just added some columns for the person type and date.

The other page that crash also contains a table, could it due to the update last week? Please help, thank you.

I'm having the same problem.  If make edits on one page and then navigate to another page the app just sits there making it so I can no longer to make edits or save.

I am having to close the app, go directly to the page from the tree view in order to make edits.  The second I go into another screen the issue comes up.

Thanks for input. Just want to narrow down the problem, do your pages contain any table?

No

Hi @sunnyfork ,

Which PowerApps version do you used on your side?

Based on the issue that you mentioned, I have made a test on my side, and don't have the issue that you mentioned. The screenshot as below:5.JPG

The version of my PowerApps is 3.19062.20. Please consider clear cache of your browser, then sign in PowerApps, create a new app, then try the Data Table control again, check if the issue is solved.

Also please consiser turn on the "Enable impeoved data table selection and Value property" option within Advanced settings of App settings of your app, then try the improved data table functionality within your app, add a new Data Table control in your app, check if the issue is solved.

In additon, please also consider turn off the "Improved app rendering (final validation)" option within Advanced settings of App settings of your app, check if the issue is fixed.

Hi @sunnyfork

I am trying to repro this issue and am having trouble getting into the error state! I have an app with two screens and each has a DataTable but it doesn't crash. What do you mean by "select two of the screens"? Are there any other steps you can follow to consistently get it to crash? I appreciate your help and apologize for the trouble!

I am not getting the error now.  Essentially, if I would make an edit on one screen and then go to make an edit on another screen, going into the 2nd screen would freeze the edit mode and make it so I coulnd't save/apply edits.  If I get it again i'll take some screen shots.

Hi @v-xida-msft ,

I think this is more than a cache issue.

I filed a similar issue for PowerApps version 3.19062.18, where if you navigate to any screen with a Datatable you can no longer go back to edit mode and the datatable connection is constantly calling the datasource.

The ribbon controls are still present but selection is limited, you can also go to the side panel menu but the Close button has no affect.

The only way to get out of preview mode now is to close the browser tab and relaunch the app into the edito.

After I removed the Datatables as suggested by @PaulD1  the issue is no longer present but this is not an optimal solution because you now have to replace this by some other way, i.e. Gallery control.

I am seeing this Web Editor crashing issue as well.

Here are the conditions present where I have been able to reproduce the problem:

1. Navigating to a Screen which contains a Form with a Data Table inside one of its cards (it's possible that this could occur without embedding the Table inside the Form, or when only using a Data Table - I haven't tested this).

2. Having LoadingSpinner (.Data or .Controls) enabled when navigating to the screen.

If either of these were removed, the issue did not occur for me. If both were present, the Web Editor would crash, with some of the toolbar icons disappearing, making me unable to save the App and forcing me to close it.

As a quick addition: turning off the "Improved App Rendering" option also stopped the issue from appearing, in my test.
