COLLECT FUNCTION ERROR

I'm new to power apps. I want to add a collect function to add data to my source without adding a Form. The formula commes out with an error. I don't know where I went wrong.

Collect creating Collection means you can update collection or create collection with it.

To add New record to Your DataScource You will need a patch

I had also tried the patch function, but my lines always end up highlighted in red with an error.

If you provide error messages showing up, I can help you resolve them. There is a big chance the error messages are issues with the Type of column vs the type of the record. You are pushing to it in Patch.

The best way is to copy Your Code here and do some screens of errors where error massage will be visible, and we can start from there.

The error seems to be coming from my drop downs. If I remove them the formula works. 

The colume in my source is a single line text and my drop down in power app is connected to another table looking up contact names.

Don't use Dropdownshipto.SelectedText sue Dropdownshipto.Selected.Value also does the contact name column from that table People and Groups if it is, you will need to use a different approuch to patch it
