hi,
i have a form, that shows data by filtering another field from different table. So if there is no match found, it just displays the default 'No items to display' text. Can we remove that and show our customized text ?
Unfortunately, there isn't a way to customize that text. Something you might try would be to have a hidden text label that is visible only when the form would be blank that covers up the area for the default text. For instance, if you use a LookUp to define the item for the form you could check to see if the LookUp is blank like so:
// OnVisible property of the text label
IsBlank( LookUp(...) )
You could also submit an idea for allowing that text to be changed. I'd vote for it! And if you could use some help with implementing my proposed solution, I'd be happy to assist.
Hi @Anonymous ,
I think that is a default of a Form and there's no OOTB setting to change it. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
As a workaround, you can try adding a label outside the form that covers/overlays the "No items to display" Text. (Please make sure the label.Fill color is the same as your Form.Fill color)
Set the label visibility to:
I'm not sure what your code is so
If( there is no match found on your filter, true, false) or
If(!IsBlank(DataCardValue.Text), true, false)
Just play with the codes. Best of luck.
Thanks,

Hi @Anonymous ,
I'm afraid it's not supported to customize "No item to display" in PowerApps currently.
It's set by default.
I suggest you express your views on PowerApps Ideas Forum. Your precious advice will be very helpful for our work.

As an alternative way, you could set the form invisiable when there's no item match and set something you want to display visible.
For example, set the form's Visible:
If(IsEmpty(Form1.Item),false,true)
Inset a label, set its Text: "try another way to match"
set its Visible: If(IsEmpty(Form1.Item),true,false)
Then, when there's no match item, the form will disappear and the label that you customize will appear.

Hi @v-yutliu-msft returns an error that "Item isn't recognised" for the form. Has something changed. Thx
Hi all, I tried to use the formula If(IsEmpty(Form1.Item),true,false)
but it gives me error, (it does not accept the Item part.)
In my case the form responds to a selection in a gallery (Gallery 3) in which I have disabled the autoselection. To resolve the visible part I use the following formula : f(IsBlank(Gallery3.Selected.field);false;true).
In te Gallery, to disable the Autoselection or first selected element I set : Default -> {}.
I hope it will be useful
I am having this same issue. Did you ever find a solution? I tried the suggested formula from @KatheB: If(IsBlank(Gallery3.Selected.field);false;true) but that still was not working for me. Running into the same issue.
Not sure if it helps, and it's probably already been covered somewhere else anyway, but I found a way to replace the "No Item to Display" in a Form by covering the Form dimensions over with a label, and setting the label's visibility to:
Has anyone been able to get this working?
Probably due to some recent updates, all the solutions discussed above doesn't work for me. But I figured out a solution
Set the Visible property of the hidden text label to be: YourGalleryName.AllItemsCount=0
