Cannot Disable Submit Button for Multiple Forms

Hello All,

I have a canvas app with three forms on a single screen. I want the Submit button to remain disabled until all fields in each form are complete. I have tried the formula below in the DisplayMode property and the Visible property of the Submit button and both fail. When the fields in the first form are complete the Submit button becomes enabled.

Submit button > DisplayMode = If(BranchForm1.Valid = false && BranchForm2.Valid = false && BranchForm3.Valid = false, DisplayMode.Disabled, DisplayMode.Edit); Or

Submit button > Visible = If(BranchForm1.Valid = false && BranchForm2.Valid = false && BranchForm3.Valid = false, DisplayMode.Disabled, DisplayMode.Edit)

What am I missing? I've used this formula before, but it was for a single form. Your help is truly appreciated.

Hi @PVLove this should do the trick!! Goodluck out there!

If(
    !BranchForm1.Valid || !BranchForm2.Valid || If(
        ddPmtType.Selected.Value = "Check",
        If(
            !IsBlank(DataCardValue84.Text) || !IsBlank(DataCardValue87.Selected.Value) || !IsBlank(DataCardValue75.Text) || !IsBlank(DataCardValue76.Text) || !IsBlank(DataCardValue103.Attachments),
            Disabled,
            Edit
        )
    ),
    If(
        ddPmtType.Selected.Value = "Credit Card",
        If(
            !IsBlank(DataCardValue102.Text),
            Disabled,
            Edit
        )
    )

Hiyya @PVLove have you tried using OR instead of AND, that way if any of the forms aren't valid it'll end up being disabled instead?

If(BranchForm1.Valid = false || BranchForm2.Valid = false || BranchForm3.Valid = false, DisplayMode.Disabled, DisplayMode.Edit)

Hi @ProjectVelox,

Thanks for responding!  When I use Or instead of And in the formula the Submit button remains disabled when all of the form fields are complete.  I think part of the problem is the Payment Method Choice field.  I thought I had the problem resolved with the formula below on the DisplayMode of the DataCardValue for the Choice field.  Apparently, neither formula is working for the DisplayMode on the button or the Choice field.  Any suggestions?

If(ddPmtType.Selected.Value = "Check", ddPmtType.Selected.Value, true, false) & If(ddPmtType.Selected.Value = "Credit Card", ddPmtType.Selected.Value, true, false)

Hi @PVLove

I would suggest removing the code on the display mode property of the dropdown.

What I did on my test here is added the code on the button's display mode which will check the two forms.
One of the forms has no mandatory fields while the other has at least one. If you noticed I didn't fill anything up. That's why the display mode of the button is disabled.

If I do fill the mandatory field it changes to Display Mode Edit.

If I change the first form to contain mandatory fields that way both forms will have at least one mandatory field, the formula above will still hit the criteria. It recognizes the first form wasn't filling up the mandatory field that's why the button is still disabled

Good Morning,

I do apologize for not including this information with my initial submission.  The Payment Method field displays additional fields based on the drop-down selection, which gives my Users the ability to select a 'Check' payment method or 'Credit Card.'  I believe that if the 'Credit Card' data is not entered that is what keeps the Submit button disabled.  I thought the If statement in the DisplayMode of the Payment Method 'Default' field would allow selection of either the 'Check' or 'Credit Card' option and enable the Submit button.  But that's not happening.  Again, I do apologize for not including that information initially.  I've been trying to make this work for over a week.

Good morning @PVLove ,

What I had in mind is what if we added the code on the button display mode property?
Here's a sample.

What this does is to first check if either of the forms are valid, then check if the dropdown's selected value is not equal to yes. If either of three returns a false, the button's display mode is disabled.

If(
    !Form3_1.Valid || !Form3.Valid ||

    DataCardValue19.Selected.Value <> 'Do not allow Bulk Mails (Accounts)'.Yes,

    DisplayMode.Disabled,
    DisplayMode.Edit
)

This is what it looks like if the dropdown selected value is set to yes but the mandatory fields has been filled up

This is what it looks like if the dropdown selected value is no even if the mandatory has been filled up

This is what it looks like if every mandatory has been filled up and drop down selected value is set to Yes

Hi ProjectVelox!

Unfortunately, this solution is not working either.  If the User selects the 'Check' payment method and NOT the 'Credit Card' payment method or vice versa, the Submit button remains disabled until both the 'Check' and 'Credit Card' options are selected.

Hi @PVLove if you want we can get into a call so we can troubleshoot this. Then once we've got it solved, let's just post the answer back in this thread.

Morning ProjectVelox,

That would be great!  Let me know what I need to do to place a call or join a call.

Thanks so much!
