Cannot add datasource to BrowseGallery1

I'm a newbie to PowerApps and trying to learn PowerApps

I'm following the tutorial https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/tutorials/add-gallery/

Downloaded the FlooringEstimates Excel File and put that file in my onedrive for business

In PowerApps I'm creating a new blank app phone layout

I successfully added the datasource to the Excel File in my OneDrive for Business

Then as per step 3, succesfully changed the layout and clicked on antyhing but row one to select the gallery

However, my screen does not look the same as step 4

I do not see FlooringEstimates for content selection, it is simply not there

I can successfully goto content, data sources and I can refresh my data source, which proves that I am properly connected to OneDrive data.

I cannot relate any data from DataSource to a new element (text box or text input) that is added to a screen (any screen).

It should be noted that I went to the tutorial, thinking that I was doing something wrong in the first place.

I can not associate a data source to a new text box in a new app or an existing app, so I thought for sure I must be doing something wrong, but in following the exact steps of the tutorial, it appears to be a bug because what works in the tutorial doesn't work now !!!!!

Hi Surfingjoe,

On the app, when clicking the Data sources button, can you see the data source you have created?

I test this issue on my side according to the tutorial, with the gallery selecting, click the ImageGallerySample button, then I can select the data source.

Please check the connection to the Excel table and try again with this issue, if you are still getting this issue, please feel free reply.

Your image helped a lot.  I mis-understood the tutorial.  My mistake is thinking that once I've clicked on a text box or an image in the app, I thought I should be able to associate a data source in the right hand pane.

The step that I missed, is clicking on that top icon in the right hand pane to associate data.

I see now, that the tutorial clearly has a red box around that top icon, and it is totally me that missed that additional step.

However, that said. It would be far more intuitive to show the DataSource or having the ability to add or change a data source in the menu bar after clicking on any item in the app. 

It is not obvious to click on the top icon in content ofthe right had pane to add or change the DataSource !!!

I need to update the DataSource for a gallery. I replaced the EXCEL file in my DropBox.  When I open the Gallery the original datasource (Excel table) is displayed and I cannot select it to show a dropdown.  How can I reestablished a datasource?

I have a screen shot to show what I am seeing.
