Canvas app - untyped object handling

Hi there, 

I am using a connector bring back information from a table in it's database called Listings like below...

This sets the variable of 'response' with a JSON payload which is quite complex. It starts with a headers object, then a body object, within which is a value array which contains objects. 

What I am simply trying to do at the moment is get the response (as plain text) visible in a text box.

So I am trying this in my text box but it errors...

How can I get round this? I have tried Text(response) also, but this returns the same error.

Have you tried using the ParseJSON function. 

I Understand that you want simply the plain Text but since you said that its quite complex it could work.

Otherwise could you remove the Text function around "Listings"?

Use the JSON function in the Text property of the Text box: Set the Text property of your Text box to JSON(response).

Thanks. I have tried the below but neither work. I have removed the Text() around the "Listings" part of my original Set, but still the below is the same on my text box.

There are different approaches listed on how to work with untyped objects.

I've been through that, but I cannot get it to work.

I have also tried the below - here I am using response, but taking the .value of it into another variable... .value is the "value" of the JSON payload, which is simply an array of objects. 

but I still cannot just simply get this into my text label as the below happens...

I don't know if you noticed but you've managed to come from Untyped object to object. 

So you basically have a table right now. it didnt work before, because you had a nested table that means tables inside of a table.

so you could try a concat function now.

Sorry, how do you mean concat? Are you able to provide an example?

I'm still not able to just see the text content of 'response' or 'responseValue' in a label  (I know it'll look like JSON)  😞
