Change tab color if selected

I have a gallery with buttons as tabs between forms. 

When the user clicks on a tab, i want the tab to change color to show which one they are on. How would i do this. The if statements i've tried on fillcolor says if statement cant be used.

Try in the Fill of the Button (with  your colours) - you are going to need a Classic Button.

   ThisItem.IsSelected, 
   Color.Red,
   Color.Blue
)

i cant find a button option with just a fill option. im using a custom page not a canvas app

On the Button Fill Property you can use this formula:

If(ThisItem.IsSelected,[Selected Color],[Not Selected Color])

Hi @el5 ,

In the OnSelect property of your buttons, try setting a variable and assign it Self.Text.

Then, add into the DisplayMode property If( var = Self.Text, DisplayMode.Disabled, DisplayMode.Edit) and change the Color and Disabled color to the desired results.

It needs to be a Classic button, not a Modern Control.

this worked, but when it goes to the new screen it will move back to the first tab. so it will be on screen 2, but the selected button will be screen ones:

So it's on the intake form screen, but onboarding checklist is highlighted instead.

You may consider using a global variable to pass the context between pages. For this I would recommend changing the code slightly.

Tab Button : OnSelect= 

Set(varCurrentTabSelected,ThisItem)

Then on your button "Fill" property adjust the code to be.

If(varCurrentTab.Value=ThisItem.Value[Selected Color],[Not Selected Color])

Apologies, you will replace .Value with value of the gallery item. Value is the default if nothing is set. What is in your Item property for this gallery? 

For example,

Here is my Gallery Item property,

 Additionally when I go to enter the formula in the Fill Property and I add "." after my variable or ThisItem I get options for the gallery item. You want want to select a unique value for that item.
