Change text label count based on "Area" button Selection. Buttons also filter gallery.

I have 3 different text Labels on the dashboard screen. One provides the count of total tickets, one provides the count of Open tickets, and the other provides the count of Closed tickets. These currently count all rows in a list. However, I need it to change when different “Area” buttons are selected. What function would I use to have the count change based on which “Area” button is selected filtering the count by the area chosen. My current functions are below. The buttons used also filter the gallery also and their current function is below).

All tickets text label= CountRows('Production Stoppage - DRAFT 1')

Open Tickets text label= CountRows(Filter('Production Stoppage - DRAFT 1',Status.Value="Open"))

Closed Tickets text label= CountRows(Filter('Production Stoppage - DRAFT 1',Status.Value="Closed"))

Buttons to filter gallery, that also need to change text label counts when selected.

Vertical Button: Set(varSelectedArea, "Vertical")

Modified Button: Set(varSelectedArea, "Modified")

Quick Ship Button: Set(varSelectedArea, "Quick Ship")

On your buttons does the onselect say

UpdateContext({btnChoice:If(btnChoice=Self,Blank(),Self)})

or does it say

UpdateContext({btnChoice:If(btnChoice=Self,Blank(),Self)}

in the picture the final ) is not shown and that would defiunitely break this.

if it is there and just cut off can you hover over the error and see what it is saying

Thats what I was missing. Your example works but not sure how to incorporate it into what I need and function within my app.

Ok Great, now knowing how it functions what you want to do is place a

UpdateContext({btnChoice:If(btnChoice=Self,Blank(),Self)})

In each of your buttons that will control the filter types.

Now for example we will make your All tickets text label have a text of the following (keep in mind i am guessing at the column names here as I havent seen your data structure)

now in the above you will need oto change vertical modified quick ship button etc to their exact name in app (as you start typing them they should show up. And change your filter to match how it looks in your list as well

here is what I have. Nothing populates. I only used buttons Vertical and Modified. Also. Area is a list column with a choice so i changed it to .Value since Area= "Vertical" was not working either.

When filtering a SPList by a value in its choice column the syntax would be

Filter(List Name, "Text To Search For" in ColumnName.Value)

will advist you though that if that list gets big, choice columsn are one of the worst columns possible to filter a splist on, not able to be delegated.

better to change it to a single line of text and control their ability to add values to it app side

I'm not sure if this is going to work for what I have. I needed the button to filter the gallery by area and also change the text label Count row values.

Example, in this one i have same buttons as befoe, with same onselect code, and i drop this into the items of my gallery

Switch(btnChoice, buttonA, Filter(ListName, "Upper Lot" in Area.Value), buttonB, Filter(ListName, "Booth 1" in Area.Value), buttonC, Filter(ListName, "Red Carpet" in Area.Value), ListName)

now that gallery filter changes itself every time i press a button, and shows all items when i unselect the filter buttons.

then my label is just a countrows based on same type of switch, or if this filkter matches the gallery one can be as simple as

CountRows(Gallery.AllItems)
