Check "Checkbox" - which then confirms the presence of an asset by sending Confirmed, Date, User update datasource

Hi, 

When a colleague visits a site, he can confirm that our specific asset is on-site.

The below shows a Gallery with Assets on a particular site.

If the asset is present, then I would like to check the Verify Checkbox. On doing so, it (or a button) will send "Asset Confirmed, by User() & the date and update the DataSource (Asset Register). Below is screen shot

Put the formula OnSelect of your confirm button. After ticking the relevant checkbox, click the confirm button:

FYI

Devices is my Excel data

FaultList is my Collection

1. Can you clarify when you say Patch(Datasource,Defaults(Datasource) - Is Datasource  my Excel Data file or is it my Collection or Gallery name?

2. Do I need to have empty columns in my Excel sheet to capture the information being returned or will it automatically update?

Yes datasouce is your excel table.

Also check and include your Gallery in the formula

You have missed one comma, after the second device

Thanks, still a niggle...Error: The specified column "Date" does not Exist    (I did insert a column for Date, Name and Status in DaraSource

Can you show your excel columns.

If you just inserted it, then refresh the connection or delete the table connection inside powerapps and reconnect it again

I have deleted my connection to Datasource and reconnected.

Still seems to be an error with the code not recognizing - see below

Check if you have formatted the name and status as dates. Right click the columns ant format as Text
