Hi bit of an odd one, which I cannot wrap my head around.
I have a Modern Table showing data from a collection (colrowcount), the simple issue is that it shows the 2nd/3rd and subsequent rows of data correctly, apart from the first row of data where 2 columns are missing information.
The issue is, I cannot view the collection data in variables, as the collection only happens when performing actions on a mobile device.
This is the collection that is triggered on each barcode scan
Solved! Go to Solution.
OK now we have eliminated some things, we need to focus on the two offending items - your code
Collect(
colScannedItems,
{
'AWB/Description': First(BarcodeReader1_6.Barcodes).Value,
ScannedTime: Now(),
WhoScanned: User().FullName,
'Package Owner': PackageOwner_5.Text,
Boatname: PackageOwner_5,
QTY: PackageNumbers_2.Text
}
);
relies on the correct information being in the two Text controls (are these Labels or Text inputs?) PackageOwner5 and PageNumbers_2 - how and when are these updated ?
PackageOwner5 - Label
PageNumbers_2 - Label
These are updated, each time I scan an item from the barcode reader, I wonder if the fact that the "Initial" scan, does not create the collection in time, ready for the data to be written to the tables.
Would it be worth either adding a timer, or having the collection initialize on screen?
OK - now we are getting closer - calculated labels have a habit of not resolving as quickly as you need them to. I suggest you set Variables to their content (the actual calculation) before you run the code and this should work.
Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.

Hi I think you are on the right path there, I think the challenge I have is that the gallery is actually being filtered by the collection itself.
Gallery of
PackageOwner5 - Label
PageNumbers_2 - Label
Items =
I have read this a couple of times and it seems you may be trying to get values from the record you are trying to create ? Can you please have a think about the sequence of events that allow these two values to be created and list them in a sentence or two.
Hi, thanks for the response. So the sequence I believe in order is as follows.
Below is not a reference to the actual names of the items but rather a generic name for simplicity purposes.
Gallery = Sharepoint List - by default this does not show any values until the collection begins populating values - as it performs a filter on this against the barcode number.
Collection 1 = On scanning a barcode - Compile all the fields against the data that it matches against in the gallery item.
Collection 2 = Take collection 1, add a row and count the rows and report that value in the PCK No.
On actually reciting this, I think you are right, I think somehow the issue is with my Collection 1 being dependant on the gallery and vice versa. - This works for items after the initial collection has been built because the data exists, but because it does not exist for the initial creation so it reports blank values.
So I wonder if a way I can get around this, is either have the Barcode number item be recorded on a text value existing outside of the gallery, and is then filtered against the gallery?
Reading this back, its kind of like chicken egg, egg chicken scenario. I believe I need to find a way that there is only a 1 way dependency.
Regards
Matt
Hi Warren, so you certainly helped me to figure out the issue, as I have just resolved it.
So the issue I was facing was rather simple actually.
I had 1 collection created with all the values I required, and then a second collection created at a later period and add 1 column. I believe somehow in the sequence of this, it was not giving sufficient time for this to process correctly. So what I did instead, is have the first collection, gather 1 item which is the serial number, as this is the actual filter item I am filtering my sharepoint site off of.
I then added all the other required collected items to the second collection "Collect", this is now showing all the information correctly!
I seriously appreciate all the input and time you took to go through this, thank you!
Regards
Matt
Hi @Sirbatchu ,
Happy to help, although it was a bit hard to be specific without getting my mind properly around how it all fitted together. You will probably work out it is not a good practice generally to refer to the value of a Label in any calculation - you are better creating a Variable (I regularly create Record Variables for an item I need to work with) and refer to that.
