Combo Box as Component

Hi guys, newbie power apps here.

I am trying to create a component with combo box and I want to dynamically add the items, that may come from SP List or collection.

I have created a custom table input name Items property. In the component property, I entered

Table()

 function in the formula. And in the screen, I can add the source with no error.

But my problem is that I cannot access a specific column in a table or record. Let say I want to filter/lookup the data source,

Filter(DataSource, Title = Label.Text)

this will throw an error, with the error message saying "column 'Title' cannot be found". The column is exist in my SP List. And if I highlighted the formula in the component Item property, I can clearly seen the table. I want to access/view the the value based on the column name.

Any advice or workaround on how to achieve this?

Hi @ffmfp_staff  ,

Please turn on the Component's 'Access app scope' feature,

and then set the custom table input name Items property to:

DataSource

Hi @v-bofeng-msft ,

Thank you for the reply.

I apologize if I did not explain it very well.

What I meant was I was able to put the value inside the component and was able to view that data, but when I only select one data from the combo box (I avoid using multi select) and I want to view that data in a gallery, the following formula will throw an error:

ThisItem.Title

or some other column name.

I have create a output property for the component name SelectedItems, with data type as table. The property is set to

SelectedItems = ComboBox.SelectedItems

and the gallery item is set to

Items = Component2.SelectedItems

As your suggestions, I turn on the 'Access app scope' feature, still couldn't get the desired output.

Below is a sample of data.

The gallery Item property

Example if I want to create a text label in the gallery, I cannot select column1/column2.

This is the component property.

Is there any other other suggestions that I can try?

HI @ffmfp_staff ,

Set the component's items property to Datasource in components tap.

Set the combobox's items property to Parent.Items

Hi @v-bofeng-msft ,

Is there a way to make it dynamic instead of hard coded it? The way that you show me is working, but I was thinking of making it more dynamic because I will be using it in many different occasion and this component will have some styling.

in the items property, I just put the data source, and view the output using the selected and selecteditems property.

hope you can  help. Thank you
