Combo Box with multiple select saving into a text field

Hi

I have a Text field in a SharePoint List.

I have a combobox with multi select on.

The combobox datasource is a Office365Users.SearchUserV2().Value.

I want to save the selected users' displayname in the text field of the SharePoint List and subsequently read the text field and display the users in the combobox and then maybe adding more names via the combobox picker.

This should be easy, but I am having trouble finding anything definitive.

Hi @NigelP ,

Based on your scenario you might have to concat the values along with separator before saving into the text field. In the same you will have split the concatenated text value based on the separator to add it in the collection and show it in the combo box as selected values.

Thanks for coming back so quickly.

This works once but not if you repeat the operation.

ie you select the items and save the form - all works well.

If you reload the form again, the items appear.

But if you save the form again and then reload it, the items have disappeared as have the items in the text field.

On every reload are recollecting the saved value and showing it in default selected items of combobox ?

After saving the Selected Items, the text field contains the (two) items seperated by a comma.

After Reloading the items from the text field the selcted items are displayed in the combobox.

Upon saving a second time the text field just has a comma.

So reloading from the text field shows nothing in the combobox.

Yes, I am recollecting the saved value and showing the saved value in the Default selected Value.  The issue appears to be is that when saving the values again, combobox.SelectedItems  seems to be blank (or blank except for one comma).  If in the mean time I add a third Item, then the combobox.selectedItems only contains the newly selected item.

Issue seems to be is If I do not add any new items before I submit the form, that DataCardValue28.SelectedItems is blank.
