Hi There
I have been trying to create a table which can be filtered (similar to excel) by several fields
My Data is as follows

Ideally I would like something like this
However, given the number columns, this Data Table has to scroll to the right to view all fields and I have not found a way to create filters like this, therefore my other option is to create a series of filters using comboboxes. However, I am struggling in making the comboboxes dependant on more than 1 combobox.
For instance, there is not "Name 4" or "Description 3" for "Item 8".
The selection of these comboboxes will filter the datatable. So my goal is to create these filters to provide the users the possibility filtering the table by several field, so they can find the data the are looking for (Similar to the filters in excel)
I hope this makes sense and really appreciate your assistance on this
Kind Regards
Hello @QH_PBA
You can use Filter function and add filter conditions.
Example Items code for your database:
Filter(SPListName
,If(IsBlank(NameHeaderComboBox.Selected.Value), true, 'Name Header'=NameHeaderComboBox.Selected.Value)
,If(IsBlank(DescriptionComboBox.Selected.Value), true, 'Description Header'=DescriptionComboBox.Selected.Value)
,If(IsBlank(ItemComboBox.Selected.Value), true, 'Item Header'=ItemComboBox.Selected.Value)
)
Above Uses true which means they will return all items if there is no selection being made.
I'm just not sure if you wanted a drill down function for the comboboxes themselves as that could pose more complication.
Just in case my answer helped you solve your problem, please mark/accept this as a SOLUTION. This helps community members if they experience a similar issue in the future. |

Hi,
Can you clarify this please: However, I am struggling in making the comboboxes dependant on more than 1 combobox.
I don't know what you mean by this statement and want to help.
Also, I have an unorthodox solution for you once you answer that is.. I dunno I feel lol cool 🙂
Cheers
If you like my answer, please Mark it as Resolved, and give it a thumbs up, so it can help others

Hi @FLMike
Thanks for the reply
I meant, making comboboxes dependant on several comboboxes. For instance, I have the option to make one combobox dependant on another combobox (Below image).
However, I need the "Item Filter Combobox" to show only those items that are not filtered out in any combo box.
For instance, in dataset above,
First Step: if I filter out, from the "Name Filter ComboBox": "Name 4"; "Name 5", "Name 6"; "Name 7"; "Name 8"; "Name 9"; and "Name 10". The "Item Filter ComboBox" should show only "Item 4"; "Item 5"; "Item 6"; "Item 7"; and "Item 9" (I can obtain this result from the "Depends on..." in from PowerApps).
Second Step: Now, if ( without removing any filter/selection in the "Name Filter ComboBox") I want to include another filter in the "Description Filter ComboBox", to select only "Description 1", the "Item Filter ComboBox" should now show only "Item 6"; and "Item 7", but because I do not know how to link all these, the "Item Filter ComboBox" is still showing "Item 4"; "Item 5"; "Item 6"; "Item 7"; and "Item 9".
As a comparison, the table in excel will look like this:
First Step:
Second Step:
I hope this makes sense

Hi @cha_cha
Thanks for your reply
This will apply to the table correct? Will this work for the interdependency across the filters? If so, Would you mind providing further details?
Regards
Yeah I wasnt sure, it sounds like drill down Funneling.
