Combobox search doesn’t work

Hello,
I am trying to allow search on a combobox that is filtered to display names in a names column in SharePoint list in alphabetical order. Also, there is a toggle which used to check the value of a column of type boolean in a different SharePoint list. Both lists have a text column that connects them.
The combobox displays all names correctly if the allow searching toggle in the properties pane is turned off m, but when I turn it on and try to use the combobox, it only shows blank.

@Rag23 ,

Exactly what you posted - allow searching in the properties pane. I cannot duplicate your issue here (it all works perfectly for me).

Thanks @WarrenBelz ,

I have the allow searching on but I still have the same issue. I am trying this code one more time in case it was indeed a delegation issue. Could you please confirm what "Value" should be in this case?

I just want to make sure since I still have the delegation warning sign even with this code. Note: the code does not show any errors.

With( { _List2: Filter( 'SharepointListB', yes/noColumn = Toggle1.Value ) }, SortByColumns( Ungroup( ForAll( _List2 As _Data, Filter( 'SharepointListA', 'TextColumn' = _Data.'TextColumn' ) ), "Value" ), "DisplayField", Ascending ) )

@Rag23 ,

Leave "Value" the same and this is the Table field output of a ForAll statement. You need to replace all the other field and list names with yours. You told me that searching produced a result before (does it now now) - none of this actually makes a lot of sense based on what you have posted. I have run the same query with the following: -

  • SharePointListB has a Boolean column 'yes/noColumn' and a Single Line of Text column 'TextColumn'
  • SharePointListA also has a Single Line of Text column 'TextColumn' and a Single Line of Text column DisplayField
  • You have Toggle1 which SharePointListB is filtered on yes/noColumn'  to produce all the matching 'TextColumn' entries which are then matched with the 'TextColumn' in SharePointListA

I ran the code posted with no Delegation warning, so something is incorrect above.

@WarrenBelz ,

Sorry for the confusion. I meant that if I don't allow the searching functionality, then all of the names in the list show up.But if I allow the searching functionality, then none of the names in the list show; therefore, searching does not work.

@Rag23 ,

Yes this one

does not display any results in the combobox (only when I allow searching in the properties pane

is a bit of a double negative.

This is normally caused by a Delegation issue (which you had originally) and I hoped my workaround might have fixed this. The issue I believe is still the relational lookup inside the Filter. Can you also confirm that your Sort field (DisplayField) is a Single Line of Text.

Hi @WarrenBelz ,

Appreciate your support. Yes the sort field (DisplayField) is a Single line of text.

@Rag23 ,

Next question is what part of the code is showing the Delegation warning as mine does not show any.

@WarrenBelz ,

With(
{
_List2:
Filter(
'SharepointListB',
yes/noColumn = Toggle1.Value
)
},
SortByColumns(
Ungroup(
ForAll(
_List2 As _Data,
Filter(
'SharepointListA',
'TextColumn' = _Data.'TextColumn'
)
),
"Value"
),
"DisplayField",
Ascending
)

Using this code:

The filter part; Toggle1 might not work correctly with TextColumn on large data sets.

@Rag23 ,

Toggle1 is interacting with yes/no column, not TextColumn. Can you please post a screenshot of the error. As I mentioned I tested this with the same field types without any error.
