Hi Guys,
When I select an item in a dropdown field I want certain values to show a new field in my form. This I figured out by using the following code:
If(DataCardValue2.Selected.Value= "MAP JET", true, false)
So when I select MAP JET in my field, it shows the field.
However there is another value called MAP Data which when selected should not show the field.
But when MAP JET and MAP Data are selected the field should still show, however it doesn't. How can I make it that as soon as MAP JET is selected the field will always show, no matter what extra value is selected.
Thanks in advance.
Edit:
This is my full code:
If(DataCardValue2.Selected.Value= "MAP JET", true, false) Or
If(DataCardValue2.Selected.Value= "MAP All-Data", true, false) Or
If(DataCardValue2.Selected.Value= "MAP Recon", true, false) Or
If(DataCardValue2.Selected.Value= "Alles", true, false)
When these items are selected it should show the field.
However when MAP Payments or MAP Collections is selected, it shouldn't except when one of the other values is also selected.

Hi @Anonymous ,
Do you mean that:
If "MAP JET" or "MAP All-Data" or "MAP Recon" or "Alles" is one of the drop down's selections , the field is visible, or else it is invisible?
Please notice these things:
1)drop down could only select one selection, but combo box could select multiple selection.
So DataCardValue2 is a combo box, not a drop down, am I right?
2)"combo boxname.Selected" could only represent the last selection of the combo box.
If you want to represent all the selections of a combo box, you should use "combo boxname.SelectedItems".
3)"combo boxname.SelectedItems" could only represent the selected items of the combo box, it could not represents the selected values of the combo box.
4)To compare a value and a table, you need to use "in" instead of "=".
So please try this formula:
If(
"MAP JET" in DataCardValue2.SelectedItems.Value

"MAP All-Data" in DataCardValue2.SelectedItems.Value

"MAP Recon" in DataCardValue2.SelectedItems.Value

"Alles" in DataCardValue2.SelectedItems.Value,
true,
false
)
If the problem still exists, please show me the formula that you set in the combo box's Items.
Best regards,
Hi @Anonymous
If you are using a multi-select control, then .Selected only refers the the last item selected, what you should do is use 'in' to check for content of the .SelectedItems
Additionally, if its only a true/false value you are looking for then you don't need to use If(something, true, false) as the value returned from a check like (DataCardValue2.Selected.Value= "MAP JET") is true/false
I would have the following for the visible property, which will check if those values exist in any of the selected items
"MAP JET" in DataCardValue2.SelectedItems

"MAP All-Data" in DataCardValue2.SelectedItems

"MAP Recon" in DataCardValue2.SelectedItems

"Alles" in DataCardValue2.SelectedItems
Could you try that and let me know if that works for you or else let me know what error it comes up with?
Thanks,
Sancho

Hi @iAm_ManCat
Thanks for your reply, I tried the code you suggested. However it doesn't seem to show the field at all.
I changed it too this:
"MAP JET" in DataCardValue2.Selected.Value

"MAP All-Data" in DataCardValue2.Selected.Value

"MAP Recon" in DataCardValue2.Selected.Value

"Alles" in DataCardValue2.Selected.Value
However this still leaves me with the same problem. Whenever I select an extra item it still does not show the field.

Thank you so much for your reply, this fixed it!
