Constantly Crashing

I cannot tell you how frustrated I am with PowerApps. I am using the Windows 10 app on an HP laptop and it is constantly crashing on me. This app is not worth the headache if I cannot even get it to run. I have issues with the web version as well. Has anyone had this issue recently?

Cool. Please ping when fixed - so we can test. thx

Some minor information - when using the web editor [in my case in chrome on windows 7] and having a datasource active to a sql server - and have a form / gallery built connected to that datasource - near constant crashes every 5 minutes of needing to create a new session.

Since I removed the connection and started using CDM I've had zero errors.

Can't remember the exact error but it was something along the lines of "First cannot be null" or something.

So this is the most recent error message I received. This occurred when I was running the app and I tried to preview the app. It immeadiately closed.

SOLUTION:

Hi I have the same problem just when starting the app ( very frustrating).

The workaround is if you use in private browsing (ie) or icognito (chrome) this issue goes away. From reading other posts the issue seem to be related to cookies not clearing.

as an aside MS Its still happening, please more testing on the web studio on differnet broswers and cache scenarios.

Hope that helps.

I had noticed this issue back in November, and the issue seemed to resolved itself after uninstalling and reinstalling. The issue has returned however, since last week.

I'm also getting the "too much recursion after 5000 messages" error.

Tried the web studio in incognito mode and got:

WebAuthoring abnormal termination.
Client date/time: 2017-01-26T19:36:43.628Z
Version: 2.0.574
Session ID: 7eaa31f4-d439-d84e-c28e-624f731f6f92
errorMessage: Uncaught Error: 'Too much recursion' after processing 5000 task groups.

@michowl Are you (and anyone else) still experiencing this problem? If so, could you describe what you were doing right before the crash occured (i.e. opening an app, sharing an app to cloud)?

Thanks,

Eric

@erga I am still experiencing this issue.

The crash occurs after opening an app, just after it completes loading.

I open the app. The app ui loads, and it starts pulling in data. The data on the first page populates. Then it crashes.

I rolled back the app to an earlier version and was able to open it. I then recreated all my changes, saved it and previewed. All worked fine. I closed the app again, and tried to reopen for editing. And then the crashing began again. And the error was still the "too much recursion" error.

I've got an active email thread going on with support right now, but I haven't heard much back regarding causes or fixes. I'm going to be rolling back and doing incremental changes and saves to identify exactly which change caused the crashes to occur.
