Copilot (preview) - first attempts

Hi All --

Late this evening I got an email letting me know I was granted access to the Power App Copilot builder. I've been looking forward to experimenting with this and dived in head-first.

First impressions with describing what I wanted and generating the Dataverse table was pretty cool. I managed to get a good approximation for what I going for. What I was mainly interested in seeing was the extent of the Copilot integration into the Power App as a natural language interface to the data.

Unfortunately, after the Power App was generated I was immediately hit with "Something went wrong. Please try again later." Screenshot below to give an idea of the problem.

I spent some time digging around Power Apps Forums, Reddit, DuckDuckGo, and YouTube, but didn't find anything clearly related. I'm curious if anyone here has seen something along these lines yet and if you have any troubleshooting suggestions.

FWIW, I've spent a fair bit of time here:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/canvas-apps/ai-overview

and here:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/canvas-apps/ai-conversations-create-app

making sure I'm meeting all the prerequisites.

Thanks & cheers!

@Jesse_S thank you for your understanding. We share your enthusiasm in utilizing copilot capabilities in our apps, and we are doing everything in our power to resolve the issue at hand. Rest assured that I will keep you informed and update this thread as soon as the issue has been resolved, so you can verify the apps in your environment.

It only seems to work if you create the table with copilot.  The copilot control does not seem to work with any of my custom tables.

If you got it (copilot) to work within the app you made, on a copilot created table when you used copilot to create the app, then you sir, are far ahead of the rest of us.

Just got to love this copilot, amazing stuff. Guess we just dealing with preview issues. Getting the same behaviour and not able to use copilot in the app generated in Power Apps. Can’t wait to try it. Hopefully a solution will be placed on this thread.

100% Agree. It'll no doubt resolve soon and to be honest copilot within the app is what im far and above most excited for.  If we are here reading and applied for the preview the chances are pretty good we are all fairly good at creating all the apps we want without copilot. But having copilot within the app connected to documentation or tables is the real highlight i cant wait to work on.  Especially once we can add other document types like excel or sharepoint lists.

Fingers crossed for a quick resolution.

It started working for me today but it seems like it only "knows" about several records in my table and not all of them.

Thank you for the feedback. I am still having the same issue. I have created a few new apps to test but I still have the same issue. I follow Shane Young MVP and he seems to be having the same issue still 3 days back. I am glad to hear that you have some movement on your side. Preview patience will pay off in the end. Good Luck

Has anyone experienced an issue with licenses when adding the copilot preview to an app? Once we added the copilot preview, we started receiving "Your Power Apps trial has expired" messages upon launching power apps. Once the copilot preview is removed, the message goes away.

That's a new report to me. Assuming you're not actually running a trial account?

We not having the same issue as you are. Everything is working except for the component in a created app. We not using a trial version are you?
