Hi All --
Late this evening I got an email letting me know I was granted access to the Power App Copilot builder. I've been looking forward to experimenting with this and dived in head-first.
First impressions with describing what I wanted and generating the Dataverse table was pretty cool. I managed to get a good approximation for what I going for. What I was mainly interested in seeing was the extent of the Copilot integration into the Power App as a natural language interface to the data.
Unfortunately, after the Power App was generated I was immediately hit with "Something went wrong. Please try again later." Screenshot below to give an idea of the problem.
I spent some time digging around Power Apps Forums, Reddit, DuckDuckGo, and YouTube, but didn't find anything clearly related. I'm curious if anyone here has seen something along these lines yet and if you have any troubleshooting suggestions.
FWIW, I've spent a fair bit of time here:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/canvas-apps/ai-overview
and here:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/canvas-apps/ai-conversations-create-app
making sure I'm meeting all the prerequisites.
Thanks & cheers!
While I've been waiting for a resolution, I decided to see what else I could build with OpenAI on the Power Platform. This evening, I started pulling it into a few different Power Flows. My favorite so far is a modification of this:
Where instead of "todo" I changed it to "GPTp". It then passes the text to the OpenAI model as a prompt and it kicks back a response in chat. I'm sure other people are playing with this in more sophisticated ways, but it's pretty cool what these tools can do.
Super excited for copilot...
Hi,
I got answer from Microsoft last week:
"Yes, this is active issue going on about copilot control, The preview copilot control relies on AIB services that are not fully available to all waitlist approved environments yet. product team working with that team to enable the service in all environments that copilot is in.
seems to only be allowed in north american environments for now, it might take some time to get all environments."
Last Friday the copilot component inside the Power App started to work also for me.
I haven't had time to test it so much, but the first impression is really good!
Thanks for the update Attemak!
So far it still doesn't work for me, and the original problem persists. I am in North America as well so i wonder if that may not be entirely the issue. Anyway, look forward to a resolution for all of us.
Thanks!
Same over here, seems to have just started working. Seems to be able to pull from excel atm as well, not just dataverse tables. Though sharepoint lists are still excluded.
So, I spoke a bit to soon on it working for excel. The Copilot Widget is hooked up to an excel file on one drive for business, and doesn't error out like it did previously which is an amazing development. When hooked up to an excel file, it seems to give suggestions of questions to ask from that file. And occasionally it answers the question based on row data, but is unable to pull more then one column from that row. The rest of the time it says it just doesn't know, or sometimes provides sample data that isn't even hooked up to the widget.
So Excel doesn't seem to be ready. Wish i had more relevant Dataverse tables to draw from without just sample data to test things out. But I'll continue to play around with it and to try different things. Hopefully more features roll out for it over the coming weeks.
For everyone stating that it is now working for them, let us know what datasources you're using that it's working on. I think when this starts working for SharePoint, it'll be game-on!
For me I'm trying to get it to work with the opportunity table in Microsoft dynamics. I've adde dit as a datasource, but get this error:
No records in the data set?? There's thousands of records though in dynamics. So not understanding what else I need to do?
