Copy data from fields to new item

Hello,

Is there a way to:

1) Select an existing record

2) Click a button and the OnSelect property would copy the data from the fields on the record into a new record with the ability to change the client name and submit the new form?

I'm creating an app that personal trainers will use to track group client workouts.  Each client that participates in the group workout will have a separate client profile where their records will reside.

it suggests you don't have those columns in the gallery. This is where you clicked for the variable

Sorry to be dense.  You are indeed correct, those fields are not used in the gallery.  I'm not sure what you mean by "this is where you clicked for the variable".  

When I change this:

'Workout Date':CollectionName.'Workout Date' to

'Workout Date':CollectionName. -the fields that show up as suggestions are from the Client Profile SP list, not the Client Workout SP list.

One option is to delete it from the formula:
Patch('Client Workout';Defaults('Client Workout'), {'Client Name':CollectionName.'Client Name'})
Then continue. If everything works fine you can add the other columnNames.

Or
Complete the table with the columnNames and continue

I don't have any errors now, but I don't see a new record created.  When I click the copy button I do see the dots move from the left to the right of the window.  When I click the second button, not in the Gallery, I don't see a new record created.  Attached are screen shots that should match up with what you told me to do.

Have you checked your Datasource clients workout table whether new record has been added.
That's if it is excel or sharepoint, open it and check
Also I see some error on the second picture, hope is not related to the process.

The error is not related to this. I don't see any new records in my SP list.

After clicking SubmitButton, go to the editing mode and check if there is error on the SubmitButton.
Also does your sharepoint list has a required field or mandatory column? If so is it part of the columns being Patched. It should be part of there is except autonumber column

Thanks for your continue help with this.  No mandatory fields.  The Client Name is a lookup field from Client Profile list. Other fields are choice, text and date.  

I pressed Alt + Button2/Submit button and then put my cursor in the formula area and didn't see any errors, red lines, etc..

Hi @eka24 

I feel it in my bones that this should be able to be done.  I set up a SP list with single line of text only fields, set up the icons as you said, see below, and I'm still not getting a record added.  What am I missing?
