Creating an App with lists and check lists

Hello,

 

I'm really new in power apps, And I need a help to walk me throu the proces of creating an app. Many thanks for You all support ! I'm trying to create an app that I could connect to lists and navigate. Im thinking about a simple layout like below. But Im trying to figure out how to add Fixed lists to items depending on the section displayed.

Example below. When I am in the "Buy" section and edit an item from this section, apart from the description of the items from the list, I also see a permanent list of tasks from this section to which I can assign a person and add informations.

 

So if I change the section to "Sell" it will show items from "Sell" and each items will have a checklist (fixed list) with quests "Sell" not "Buy".

How to start, what to do first and whether such a solution is possible to create .Thanks in advance for your help, I'm sure any information will come in handy. Thank you very much.

To create an app with lists and checklists in Power Apps, you can follow these steps:

  1. Create a new canvas app: Open Power Apps Studio and create a new canvas app by selecting the blank app template.
  2. Design the layout: Design the layout of your app by adding controls such as screens, labels, buttons, and galleries. In your case, you can start by adding a screen for each section (e.g., "Buy" and "Sell") and design the layout accordingly. You can use the provided example image as a reference for the layout.
  3. Connect to data sources: Connect your app to the data sources that will store your lists and checklists. You can use SharePoint lists, Excel, or other data sources depending on your requirements. To connect to a data source, go to the Data tab in the Power Apps Studio and select "Add data source."
  4. Retrieve and display items: Configure your screens to display the items from the selected section. For example, on the "Buy" screen, you can use a gallery control to display items from the "Buy" list. Set the Items property of the gallery to the corresponding data source, and use filters to display only the items from the "Buy" section.
  5. Add checklists: Within each item's details view, you can add a checklist control to display the fixed list of tasks for that section. You can use a data source (e.g., SharePoint list) to store the fixed list of tasks for each section. Create a separate checklist control for each section and set its Items property to the corresponding data source, filtered based on the section.

Thanks a lot! Its really help full, I'm stock on point 5 . I've made a Main list, all the fixed check list in Sharepoint and the Control list that (I think) should connect Items. But dont know how to made the relation correctly. Any clues?

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!   This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can.
