Creating an app where I need to compare Textinput to a Textlabel

I'm trying to create a app where I need to compare a textinput to a textlabel.

If(TextInput2.Text = Label2.Text ;RGBA(235; 130; 125; 1)) (this is in Fill in a rectangle)

This line changes a color from black to pink, if Input2 matches Label2.

My issue is that I have 5-8 different things to check against.

so textinput 1 looks at label 1-8. if there is a match I need this color to change.

TextInput2 should look at label 1-8, but exclude what's in Input1. (if it's correct..)

Basicly it should look at if any of the rectangles changed color.

I use a barcode scanner to scan qr codes. and each qr code represents a part. and I need correct amount of parts to be put in a box.

Hi @itjohan ,

I understand the first part but not the second. Could you clarify or rephrase?

Example:

If(
    TextInput1.Text = Label1.Text || TextInput1.Text = Label2.Text,
    Color.Blue,//match
    Color.Red //no match
)

5 parts should be put in a box. Partnumbers are as follows. 1,2,2,3,4,5 (part number 2 should be twice in the box)

so I scan part1 which is partnumber 1. The box should change color. I scan part1 again, it should present an error. I scan part 2. that box should change color. I scan it again, next box change color. etc

Sorry @itjohan I am not getting it. Perhaps draw this in Excel for example and paste it here as an image with your expected result.

scan.PNG

so it looks like this basicly. and I'm open to suggestions. I could create a sharepointlist with the partnumbers and match against that. My biggest issue is that one partnumber is going to be two of. so I'm scanning the same partnumber twice.

Hi @itjohan ,

Ok this makes sense to me now but it’s still unclear what you’re set up is.

There are probably several ways to approach this depending on your scenario, but the below might give you some ideas.

If you’re Patching the scanned barcodes onto a SharePoint list, you could apply a Lookup function on the Fill property of each box to change colour if the Barcode value equals the specific Part Number:

If(
   !IsBlank(
      LookUp(
         'SharePoint List',
         'Barcode field in SharePoint' = PartNumber1.Text
      )
   ),
   Color.Green,Color.White
)

my issue is that 1 partnumber is twice in the package.. we are packaging 10 pallets / week, same content in each.

I got some tip about the IN function in some other thread. Checkboxes were suggested aswell.

My setup is not setup yet, but it has to be a bigger screen, so a computer instead of a tablet. A simple qr code reader. connected through bluetooth.

But scan, check, ok or not ok. if there are 8 barcodescans, not ok. (should be 7) So I have that to figure out aswell. if I scan the same barcode twice, it has to remember I scanned it already.. But if I scan to a collection, I can clear it when I'm done with the box?

@itjohan by “set up” I meant how you want all this to work from an app perspective.

I will make a few assumptions.

 You want to scan multiple packages, so let’s assume you have the Scanning Mode set to Scan multiple.

Based on your picture, I assume you will have a Gallery which displays each of the scanned items.

I assume you either want to submit all Gallery items into SharePoint after the scan is complete (using a Button control), or you want to automatically submit all items into SharePoint once you have clicked the Submit button on the Barcode reader.

Create a Gallery (let's call it Gallery1) and in Gallery1, add a Label. On the Text property, enter: ThisItem. 'Your Barcode Field'.

I know you want to ensure that the scanner does not submit the same package onto your data source if the item has already been scanned, except for a specific item, which you do want scanned more than once. If you know the item number you want to scan more once, and that item number is going to remain the same each week, you could apply a condition to the Patch expression.

On the OnSelect property of the submit button, or on the OnScan property of the Barcode Reader, you can use:

Patch(
    'Your Data Source',
    ForAll(
        Gallery1.AllItems,
        With(
            {
                _item: If(
                    LookUp(
                        'Your Data Source',
                        'Your Barcode Field' = 'Your Barcode Label'.Text,
                        'Your Barcode Field'
                    ) = "01234",//the package reference to be scanned twice
                    Blank(),
                    LookUp(
                         'Your Data Source',
                        'Your Barcode Field' = 'Your Barcode Label'.Text,
                    )
                )
            },
            {
                ID: _item.ID,
                //unique SharePoint id. if the unique id does not exist, power apps will create a new record
                'Your Barcode Field' = 'Your Barcode Label'.Text
            }
        )
    )
)

For the box formatting, we can use the following example. Create another Gallery (Gallery2) and in the Items property, use the below with sample part numbers:

Table(
    {
        'Package Number': "01234"    },
    {
        'Package Number': "56789"    },
    {
        'Package Number': "98765"    },
    {
        'Package Number': "43210"    }
)

Add a Shape into Gallery2. Add a Label control into this Gallery and for this example, name the control “Part Number”. On the Text property of this Label, enter: ThisItem.'Package Number'.

In the Fill property of the Shape, enter the non-delegable expression:

With(
    {
        part_number: LookUp(
            'Your data source',
            'Your Barcode Field' = 'Part Number'.Text
        )
    },
    If(
        part_number.Barcode = "01234" && CountRows(
            Filter(
                'Your data source',
                'Your Barcode Field' = part_number.Barcode
            )
        ) = 2 || !IsBlank(part_number) && part_number.Barcode <> "01234",
        Color.Green,
        Color.White
    )
)

Hope the information above will steer you into the right direction.

my setup is quite simple, a barcode scanner and a bunch of parts to put in a box. I think 7 total, with 2 pcs of 1 part. each part has a sticker with a qr code. I won't use the scanfunction in powerapps because I need the info on a bigger screen.

@itjohan you won't use the scan function in Power Apps? I do not know what that means.
