On Monday afternoon, as news of COVID-19 cases spread globally, we pulled together a team to help customers coordinate their own information sharing and team collaboration in response to evolving conditions in times of crisis. Today, less than 48 hours later, we’re releasing the first version of that solution for any customer organization to quickly implement. You can read more about the solution in our blog post or get the full instructions for how you can implement your own Crisis Communication app here.
We're extremely excited to hear how the community leverages this app, so we've created this thread to hear directly from you. Feel free to share your experience customizing the solution and altering it for your own needs. Over the next few weeks, we'll take your responses to make the app even better and post incremental updates. 😁
I am running into problems with step 5 in the Import and set up the Crisis Communication app portion of the docs.
I get to the point where I should be importing the CrisisCommunication.zip file and everything looks the same as in the documentation to where the next step (Step 5) is to click Import but which is disabled for me:
Any suggestions on what I may be missing?
You'll need to configure your connections by selecting "Select during import". Once all of the red alerts are gone the import button will be enabled. 🙂
Hello mabolan,
I did try that at first and can clear the Office 365 Users Connection resource type but it's the Teams Connection section where I'm confused. I'm not seeing anything in the documentation about how to Configure the connection or custom API here:
I see the details on how to connect Teams from *within* the Canvas app but I have no idea how to clear the alert for the Microsoft Teams Connection Resource to successfully complete these steps defined in Import and set up the Crisis Communication app
Any suggestions on how I could proceed?
To get a new connector for Microsoft Teams, follow these steps:
You'll want to follow these steps for any connection that you don't already have 🙂
That worked. Thanks for your help
@Mr-Dang-MSFT& Team, Well done on the app, I've implemented version 1 and updated to version 2. Appreciate the work.
Hi team, can you pls summarise the privacy and security aspects of this app? Who does the data get sent to? What privacy by design features have been taken into account to ensure that it is GDPR compliant? THanks!
Most of the data that is collected is sent to and stored inside of the SharePoint site that you create as part of the deployment steps. The one exception depends on how you send push notifications; you have the opportunity to send data to Teams, push notifications through Power Apps, or via email.
The only sensitive data that is collected as part of the app is the users location when they set their status so that the central crisis management team can monitor where folks are when they set their status. In the docs, we share how to disable this feature if you don't want this data.
If you're interested in how to be GDPR compliant with Power Apps and SharePoint, I'd recommend checking out these doc articles:
1.) On "FAQ" screen the question title does not wrap or auto adjusts it's height. Long question Title are unreadable on a small screen.
2.) On "home" screen the Edit work status button is commented out and seems to await for more logic.
There is a bit to digest in the app and pausing often to learn/understand . Its all about components.
Hi,
Thank you very much for providing this app. I am having a problem when trying to click "Run Flow" to create the SharePoint lists, I have allowed the location services for https://emea.flow.microsoft.com. All connections are green, created a new SP connection just in case. When I click Run Flow it does nothing. Any thoughts? Anywhere I can see where it is going wrong? Edited the flow for my site and named the app as per instructions.
Thanks in advance.
Tony.
