Customizing Issue Reporting Sample App

I'm tasked with creating an Issue Tracker for my team at work, and looking into the options I have, I came across these Issue Reporting and Manage Issues sample apps designed by Microsoft. They are quite close to what I need, but one of the major drawbacks is that the 'Questions' in the Issue Template of reporting form seems to be only of type textbox. Please see below.

I would like to be able edit the type of questions so I can make them dates, choices etc. For example, I need a Priority (High, Low, Normal) and Status (New, In Progress, On Hold, Closed) where the user can make selections.

 

Is there a way to customize the app so I can provide a better 'Issue Submission' form to the eventual end user?

I started to do this customization. But before I go too deep into it, I had a quick question: Do you only want two additional types of questions: status and priority? Or do you want to keep that customizable?

Status and priority are just two examples. I definitely want it to be customizable.

I agree – customization is key. I’ll also underline being able to change the type of question. IE drop down, multiple choice, attaching a file, etc.

Hi,

 

I have an issue with the Manage issues template. I cannot change the 'Due within' days. Nothing happens when I click on the arrow to increase or decrease the number of days.

Any advice would be welcome as I would like to try using this app which sounds really appropriate to our internal usage.

I would also really love to see a blog for the method to do that.  Being rather new to Powerapps and Power Automate.  Really hoping to be able to add type of attachment, and screenshot.

 

@PowerAddict   Where you ever able to write that blog? I am finding myself needing to do the same customization over 1.5 years after this post.

I'm looking to use this Issue Reporting app within my organisation, but i've been informed by our IT team that "Microsoft no longer support this app. Same with the Milestones app. Could you please confirm if this is true, and if so, what does this mean. We interpret it to mean that it will be discontinued. if so, is there a better app out there that replaces it?

Apologies for the late response. That is correct, these apps are no longer actively being supported. That being said, those apps will not be discontinued. Just that, if any bugs are reported, they will not be fixed by Microsoft. OR no new features will be added. The source code of these apps are available on GitHub. So you should always have access to the code that you can customise.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!   This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities. Users must provide a solution which can be an “Accepted Solution” in the Forums in all of the communities and there are no limits to the number of “Accepted Solutions” that a member can provide for entries in this challenge, but each entry must be substantially unique and different.    Winner Selection and Prizes: At the end of each week, we will list the top ten (10) Community users which will consist of: 5 Community Members & 5 Super Users and they will advance to the final drawing. We will post each week in the News & Announcements the top 10 Solution providers.  At the end of the challenge, we will add all of the top 10 weekly names and enter them into a random drawing.  Then we will randomly select ten (10) winners (5 Community Members & 5 Super Users) from among all eligible entrants received across all weekly Entry Periods to receive the prize listed below. If a winner declines, we will draw again at random for the next winner.  A user will only be able to win once overall.
