DATE PICKER SUGGESTION/BLOCK

hi all

i ve two date picker, one for the starting date and the other one is for the ending date, i d like to know:

-how can i suggest a specific day when clicking on the date picker (i mean in terms of selection, not immediately reporting the date in the cell (i attach a screenshot, and u can see it shows up the current day, that s what i want to change as suggestion)?

-how can i "block" that in the second date picker users might select previous dates of the starting date?

thanks

1. That you call suggestion is the Default property of DatePicker. You can set it with Today() or whatever you want

2. Is not possible to set a range for DatePicker control.

See this post for datepicker validation: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Power-Apps/Start-and-end-date-validation/m-p/52901

hi @EdViegas

many thanks for ur reply, ur answer to the first point it s half ok for my case, i explain u better:

i changed the default properties and now it works perfectly it has suggested the exact day i specified... but the thing is that once i changed the default property, the date becomes immediately written in the box, look at the screenshot (i only updated the default of the first date picker, the second one u can see it s only a hint), and this means that if a user miss to select the dates (they might be different from the ones i suggest) and then submit the form (sorry i missed to say that in previous post!), then there s no control if the user forgot to select the dates, while before updating the properties of both date picker, if it was missing a date, the form is not submitted (i ve just tested it)...so i might consider to change the default property of the first date picker, and leave Parent.Default in the second one, in this case it s not the 100% solution, but a good 50% as the second date picker is the one which has more probability to be different

about the second point, my idea is not set a certain range of dates, but to block the insert of a previous date as ending date compared to the one selected as starting date, or if it s not possible, having an error message popping up and/or blocking the submit of the form

many thanks

@FedeRichi88

You  could have the Default of datepicker2 be

Coalesce(Parent.Default, datepicker1.SelectedDate+1

In the OnChange property of datepicker2 If(DateDiff(datepicker1,datepicker2)<1, Notify("End date must be after start date",Error))

hi @Drrickryp

thanks for your reply, very interesting, just the thing is the default formula it s automatically writing so it might happen user forget to fill in the information, i think i m ok with my previous post as i see it as a good balance between automatic compilation and control

anyway very useful the onchange property u suggested me!

thanks both! @EdViegas  @Drrickryp
