Hi All,
I have created a power apps with data table on it from custom connector, we can select one row and get the data on it, but is it possible to select multiple rows? I can't seem to find any samples how to make it selectable on multiple rows or like add select all.
Thank you in advance. 🙂
@orchidc
The better approach is to use a gallery here instead of a data table.
Insert a new gallery into your app, then connect it to the datasource. Insert a label for each field you want to display and also go ahead and go ahead and make your column titles.
Now, place a checkbox inside the gallery. Change the TemplateFill property of the gallery to this code to make it highlighted
If(CheckBox1.Value=true, Yellow, White)

Hi @mdevaney thanks for the reply.
that's actually my first approach it works with few fields but the columns doesn't fit all as it has like 20+ and may have 10-100 records depends on the filter.
Hi Orchidc,
I think you can use a Gallery and can get the same look and feel using Gallery as Data table. It needs bit of adjusting and you can also use vertical lines to overlay make it feel like a table. Once Gallery is sorted it's flexible.
Thanks,
Kasun
The reply is solely my personal opinion. It doesn't reflect my employer of Microsoft opinion.

It is my strong opinion as an app maker that you should not be putting 20 columns in a single table. No app user will be able to read this easily and you'll pull down way more data than is needed from your datasource.
Try putting between 3-5 columns in your Gallery that will help the user to identify the record they want to look at. Then allow the user to click on a record to see more details on a different screen.

Hello @orchidc ,
I have an exact requirement and I have 12 columns to display in my gallery. I am not able to find a way to fit them all in a single row by adding all the labels. I could only see the vertical scroll bar but no horizontal one for the gallery.
Hi,
I actually made it into limited fields in the table, though end-users still want to view all fields with scrollbar for them to easily identify which records are lacking of information before they call the integration action and not opening each record to check those but in my situation I just explained that it is not possible as each of these records also has related records with set of fields to display.
Below is my actual approach for you to have idea about it. I attached the whole record and named it as "employeeRec" to the action so I can use all fields on the view screen.
This is the view page I created when the action was called, I added here a back action so I can view again the list.
How I display the rest of the fields? - above image I have attached the whole record as "employeeRec" and here I just display them like employeeRec.FIRSTNAME, etc.
Hope this helps.
... and thanks everyone for the ideas from your responses as a whole.

Hey @orchidc , really nice app.
How did you solve the selecting multiple items in the data table? I am looking for a solution to select items to then add to an order. The data table fits nicely in the app and i wanted to avoid using a gallery.
I just visited this now, it is not possible in table, I used gallery to add the checkboxes for muti-select then I designed them to look like table which looks like the one above.
You can add slider to the screen and X properties of first item in gallery should be 0-slider.X and next all other columns x properties should be dependent on previous one (pervious_column.X + previous_column.width).
