Hi,
I have set my datacard height fix to 68 but everything when I make changes or save the page, the height will auto change. Does anyone have any idea why this happen? Thanks in advance!
Solved! Go to Solution.
I solved the problem by not using the data form because it is very difficult for me to control the location of my buttons in the datacard.
Hi @sbgoh ,
Have a look in the card on the tree menu at left for all controls in it, especially where the Error control is situated. Make sure all of them have Y and Height settings that do not total more than 68 - I believe that is your issue.
Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.
How come the height in the properties and the height in the dropdown list is different? I tried to change the height in the properties but the height in the dropdown list sometimes change and sometimes did not.
Height in the dropdown list as shown in my screenshot.
@sbgoh ,
Did you look for other controls in the card as per my post?
The card will always adjust to the maximum total of the Y and Height of any control it in. Also if there are any other cards in the same row, all cards will take the height of the largest one in the row. Please check this as well.

I made all controls height depend on first control. But I still cannot find the highest height.
The Request Type datacard height is auto calculated every time I do testing and close the form.
Now its height set to 91. The Label Y= 10, Height = 24 and the Text Y = 39, Height = 24.
Padding are all set to 0. I have removed the error message text.
So I don't understand how the system calculate the datacard height as 91?
One other thing to be careful of when trying to set the size of controls. Changing the size of the parent control will overwrite any changes that you make. So for example, if you change the size of a data card and then modify the height of the form it will overwrite your changes. This is also very common if you are using more than one column.
The only reliable way I've seen to do this is to avoid the data cards entirely and just use standard controls in the form. By design the data cards are built to modify their appearance based on things like screen dimensions, layout, etc.
@sbgoh ,
I will go back to my original question (which you still have not answered) - are there any controls (error, star, key etc) in any of the cards in the row that would "push" the height of the data card up to accommodate where they are situated?
There has to be a reason for the card not accepting the height you have set.
There is only Key and Data. All the stars and error message are removed.
All the fields (Key & Date) in the same form are set to same height for the key, data and datacard. I also set the wrap and Autoheight = false. Does it has to do with combo box?
When I update a specific field of the selected record, the height will keep increasing.
Hi @sbgoh ,
Do you mean that the data card Height property changed when you submit your form data?
Based on the issue that you mentioned, I have made a test on my side, and don't have the issue. Actually, the data card height is allocated by the Edit form automatically.
Normally, each data card has same Height value within a Edit form. As an fixed solution, please consider set the Height property of the Data card in your Edit form based on the DataCardKey, ErrorMessage Label and DataCardValue Height property as below:
Set the Height property of the Data card in your Edit form to following:
DataCardKey9.Height + DataCardValue9.Height + ErrorMessage4.Height + 30
then try it again, check if the issue is solved.
If the issue still exists, please consider turn off the "Scale to fit" option within "Screen size + orientation" settings of App settings of your app, then re-publish your app, check if the issue is fixed.
Best regards,
I am using Display form not Edit form to display my data. I have 2 button to change specific field in the record. E.g. 1 button will change the status field in the record to "Closed". One will change status to "Open". I am using "UpdateIf" to update the field.
If I keep toggle between the 2 buttons, the height in all my datacard in the same display form will keep increasing and result in having vertical scroll bar which I don't want. I also off the scale to fit. As mentioned in my previous reply, each datacard only have datacard key and value. There is no error message, star.
It still happen. I don't understand why? The display form is very difficult to use. 😞
