Dataverse Choice field value in If condition

How to write Dataverse Choice field value in If condition?

Example:

Choice field name is Choice A

Text field name is Textbox.

I am trying to set Text field value to Yes if choice field value is  "Choice A" and Text field value to No if choice field value is  "Choice B". Can anyone suggest me how to accomplish this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @aaedla 

Set the Default property of the TextBox field to

Dropdown1.Selected.Value = 'Choicename (TableName)'.Choice Value

Example, using Dataverse Account Status Reason choice field

Dropdown1.Selected.Value = 'Status Reason (Accounts)'.Active

Do you want to populate the textbox based on the choice?

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

Not sure if there is a Combo Box for you to select choice value, just assume that you have a Combo Box within a form for you to save data.

Set the Default property of the text box as below:

If(ComboBox2.Selected.Value=ChoiceColumn.'Choice A',"Yes",
   If(ComboBox2.Selected.Value=ChoiceColumn.'Choice B',"No")
)

Thank you for your comments but I am using Dataverse choice column so I can't use combobox.selected.

What do you mean that you could not use a Combo Box?

Could you please show me your app configuration?

If there is no Combo Box, how could you display the Choice value?

There is no need to focus on verbatim conversations, I just expression my confusion because your tag is PowerApps forum, so that I could just imagine the scenario happened in a Power Apps scene.

If you have a model-driven or portal, you should add something different tag.

In addition, yes, I have used the Choice column in Dataverse.

Please confirm which app you are using (Canvas app or Model-driven app). We have separate forums for both. This forum is for the Canvas app(PowerApps), so we assumed you are using canvas and the data source is Dataverse and provided a solution. Use the right forum so that you get the right answer instead of back and forth.

I answered with a working sample based on the Canvas app with Dataverse as a data source.  If you are looking answer within the model-driven app then you can use

Both run on the client-side.

Sorry for confusion. I am using Dataverse with Canvas app. Somehow I am getting error if I use "Combobox.Selected" to get the selected value in combobox. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @aaedla 

Sometimes it's based on Items property. In the below example, I have a combo box with the Items property of the Dataverse Status Choice field

Choices(Accounts.'Status Reason')

Getting a value from the combo box is

ComboBoxStatus.Selected.Value

Please let us know the item's property of the combo box. 

if your combo is multi-selected then we need to contact you to get value

Concat(ComboBoxStatus.SelectedItems.Value, Text(Value) & ";")
