Date Input validation in a text box

Hi All,

I have been trying to create a user form. I have a drop-down field named TYPE_OF VALID_TO.    Items for the drop-down field are

["Valid Till Date","Valid from number of months to create date","Valid from number of months last sales"] and I have another field named Valid_To which is of type Text input. So when a User selects Valid Till Date he should Type a Date in Valid_To text box in a (mm/dd/yyyy) format. my query here is I need to validate the input given by the user and show a popup to User to type date in correct date format and if user selects other two drop down values then user will be entering no.of.months  eg: 5 here 5 is no.of months and not referring to (May Month) . I need to validate this input value that the user can only enter numbers and not texts or number in format eg(entering 05 instead of 5) is there a way to achieve this.

To make it easier for your users, insert a DatePicker so that users will select from the DatePicker instead of trying the date.

You can then change the format of the DatePicker to "mm/dd/yyyy"

In the Textbox that User is supposed to type the Date, put;

DatePicker1.SelectedDate

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

Do you want to validate the enter value within the Valid_To text box regarding the selected option within the TYPE_OF VALID_TO. ComboBox?

Regarding the needs that you mentioned, I think the IsMatch function could achieve your needs. I have made a test on my side, please try the following workaround:

Set the OnChange property of the Valid_To text box to following:

    DataCardValue6.Selected.Value = "Valid Till Date",
    If(
        !IsMatch(DataCardValue21.Text, "(?:0?[1-9]|1[0-2])\/(?:0?[1-9]|1[0-9]|2[0-9]|3[0-1])\/(?:20\d{2})"),
        Notify("You entered a invalid date format, please enter value in mm/dd/yyyy format", NotificationType.Warning);Reset(DataCardValue21)
    ),
    If(
        !IsMatch(DataCardValue21.Text, "[1-9]\d*"),
        Notify("You must enter a valid number value, rather than Text value or number value starts with 0", NotificationType.Warning);Reset(DataCardValue21)
    )
)

when you typed a value within the Valid_To text box, and then move the mouse focus to other place, the OnChange property of the Valid_To text box would be fired.
