Date formatting for Australia - Form input for date, hours and minutes

Hi Everyone, I've been trying to do a basic Date and time input for my form. I have a date picker , an hour drop down, and min dropdown. it's writing to a sharepoint list in date /time format.

I've managed to get it to concatenate, and write to a label ( to the left) 

I've tried so many things but i get a totally wrong date in sharepoint even though it's displayed in the form ok. 

This is where I'm concatinating in the form

Label 'text' field : Text(Text(DateValue(DataCardValue4.SelectedDate),"dd/mm/yyyy") &" "& StartHourDropDown_1.SelectedText.Value & ":" & StartMinDropdown_1.SelectedText.Value)

card 'update' field is then just labelname.text

I've also tried just convert it to date but there isn't a language option for AU and Datetimevalue on its own will flip the day and month in reverse.

The issue you're facing seems to be related to how dates are handled in SharePoint compared to Power Apps. SharePoint uses the ISO 8601 date format (YYYY-MM-DD), whereas in your Power Apps you're using a different format (DD/MM/YYYY). This could lead to SharePoint interpreting your dates incorrectly.

To fix this, you can adjust your formula to use the correct format. However, you need to ensure that the date is passed as a DateTime value, not as a Text value. This can be achieved using the DateValue, Time, and Text functions in your formula.

Here is the updated formula for your label's Text property. This creates a valid DateTime value from your date picker and time dropdowns:

    DateValue1.SelectedDate + 
    Time(StartHourDropDown_1.SelectedText.Value, StartMinDropdown_1.SelectedText.Value, 0),
    "[$-en-US]yyyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ssZ"
)

In this formula, we're first creating a DateTime value by adding a Date and a Time together. Then we're converting it to a Text value in the ISO 8601 format that SharePoint expects.

In your DataCard's Update property, you should convert this text back to a DateTime value:

DateTimeValue(LabelName.Text)

This helps make sure that SharePoint receives a DateTime value in the correct format.

Thanks! , this makes a lot of sense. I made the updates though and am still getting a an invalid date.

I made the following updates

Label Text : Text( DataCardValue4.SelectedDate + Time(StartHourDropDown_1.SelectedText.Value, StartMinDropdown_1.SelectedText.Value, 0), "[$-en-US]yyyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ssZ" ) 

Card Update: DateTimeValue(DateTimeConverted_1.Text)

could this have something to do with the power apps format being in US in the formula? and not converting when it gets to sharepoint which looks to be in Australia format? e.d dd/mm/yyyy ?

Also not sure if this helps but when checking the card update value it looks like datetime value has flipped it back again before it sends it off?
