Default drop down or combobox is not "selected"

Hi

I have a combobox where I want the user to select a custormer related to a project.

Afterwards I want the user to select a contact person by the customer related to the project. (This dropdown list is filtered based on the values selected in the combobox (the customer selection).

Afterwards I want the user to add other informations about the specific project.

When the project is saved/submitted, the customer is saved as a global variable called "CurrentSagKunde" and the contact person is saved as a global variable called "CurrentKundeKontakt"

In the end the user should have the possibility to create a new project, where the customer and customer contact person is copied from the previous project...

This is where I meet the problems...

The default of the combobox is set to: [CurrentSagKunde]

The default of the dropdown is set to: CurrentKundeKontakt

The combobox is showing the name of the customer - but the dropdown list is not showing anything (and I cannot choose anything from the list - just as if the customer hasn't been selected correctly)... When I re-choose the customer in the combobox, the dropdown list is showing the rigth name (and the rest of list is also available)...

How do I get my combobox and dropdown list to work as expected?

wkr Jørgen

Hi @jlke-as ,

Yes, I use in because I initially thought your combo box was multiple. You can replace "In" with "=".

From your description so far, I think the biggest problem is that you update the Currentsagkunde with the value returned by the Concat function. Although you use [Cunrrentsagkunde] to make the option appear in Combobox, Combobox doesn't actually select this value. Combobox.Selected.ColumnName returns blank, which causes dropdown to filter for records with a blank value for kundernumber column.

The workaround is to set this variable to:

Set(CurrentSagKunde;ComboBox1.SelectedItems)

In addition, you don't need to use [ ] anymore, but use this variable directly in the defaultselectedItems of combo box.

CurrentSagKunde

Best regards,

Rimmon

Hi @jlke-as ,

Could you please show me the code on DropDown and combo box? It will be better if there are some screenshots.

If the dropdown items depend on the combo box, there is a possibility that there are no eligible records, so the dropdown list is empty.

Best regards,

Rimmon

Hi,

Here you have the code for the combobox...

jlkeas_0-1702371753233.png

And here you have the code for the dropdown list

jlkeas_1-1702371799246.png

When ever the user wants to copy the informations a button updates the global variables

Set(CurrentSagKunde; Concat(ComboBox1.SelectedItems; Kundenavn ; ";") );;

Set(CurrentKundeKontakt;DataCardValue107.Selected.Kundekontaktperson)

Hi @jlke-as ,

Concat returns Text not a Table. Code in drop down can't find records when CurrentSagKunde(text) displays in combo box.

If I understand correctly, you want to create a variable to save the options in the combo box and set this variable as the default value in the combo box.

Please try this:

Set(CurrentSagKunde;ComboBox1.SelectedItems)

Items of drop down:

Filter(Table_KunderKontakter;KundeNumber in ComboBox1.Selected.Kundenumber)

Best regards,

Rimmon

Hi

Thanks for the quit responses...

However - I cannot retrieve the value chosen in the combobox like that (I have defined it not to be able to select multiple values - but I think I still need to handle the input as there could be more inputs...)
