Default selected field - Model Driven app

Hello,

I am new to the model driven apps. I have a Dataverse feeding my forms. When a form doesn't have Date field, no fields in the form are preselected when I browse the app. However, when my form has a Date field, it gets automatically selected. It creates 2 problems:

1. This is not where the user focus should be when entering the form. It is not the most important data.
2. The date field can be at the bottom of a long form, essentially forcing the navigation to the bottom of the form as soon as the user enters the form. In image "1" you can see the field underlined blue and the scrolling bar halfway down the form. 

Could I stop a date field to become auto selected? Could I choose what field I want to be selected by default?
Any tips to force a specific field to be the first select field when we open the form or the tab?

Hi,
you could use a script to set Focus on the field you'd like.
Trigger it on the OnLoad-event on the form.

function setFocusOnField(executionContext) {
    var formContext = executionContext.getFormContext();    
    formContext.getControl(<field name>).setFocus();
}

Pardon my newbie skills. This is the error I am getting when setting up the script.

ReferenceError: digistra_service_name_en is not defined

that is the name of the field that should be in focus on the load.

Have you checked the checkbox "Pass execution context" when you setting upp the function to trigger on the OnLoad event?

Yes. 
This is the code:

function setFocusOnField(executionContext) {
    var formContext = executionContext.getFormContext();    
    formContext.getControl(digistra_service_name_en).setFocus();
}

 And the Function name is "setFocusOnField".

sorry for late reply, could you try to wrap the field name in quotation?

Thanks! That worked.
The other import thing that wasn't mentioned before for any other newbie like me is that I had to put seFocusOnField as the Function name when configuring the event.
