DefaultSelectedItems not saving

I have 2 sharepoint lists - TimeOffAllowances and TimeOffRequests:

TimeOffAllowances

Analyst = PeoplePicker

AnalystDisplayName = Single line text, set by PowerAutomate to equal Analyst's DisplayName

StartofYear = Date, set by PowerAutomate to equal the first of the year

PersonalDaysAllowed = number, ex. starts with 5 days.

PersonalDaysCurrentBalance = number, updated by PowerAutomate after each request has been made

Each year there will be a new item for each analyst with the start of the year

TimeOffRequests

Analyst = Lookup to AnalystDisplayName

TimeOffStartDate = Date field

TimeOffEndDate = Date field

TimeOffUsed = number, set based on date fields using DateDiff + 1

Problem 1 - Not saving defaultedselecteditems

In my PowerApps, I am using it to submit time off requests (into the TimeOffRequests list). For the analyst field I have Items set to:

SortByColumns(
    Distinct(
        TimeOffAllowances,
        AnalystDisplayName
    ),
    "Value"
)

I'm trying to set the DefaultSelectedItems to the current user's display name

Filter(
    Distinct(
        TimeOffAllowances,
        AnalystDisplayName),
    Value = Office365Users.MyProfileV2().displayName
).Value

This seems to set the drop down just fine, but it's not saving back to the form properly. What am I doing wrong?

Problem 2 - Power Automate not finding TimeOffAllowance item

When the request is submitted in the TimeOffRequests list, it's supposed to go back to the TimeOffAllowances list find where the analyst matches and the start of the year is this year. But it's saying BadRequest. 400.

Any ideas?

DefaultSelectedItems should probablyt just be 

Office365Users.MyProfileV2()

It all depends on what your Items is returning as the record types need to match. So you essentially want to use a Lookup() in the Default Items vs the Filter() in Items. Same thing, just Filtered to your display. 

As for the flow. Put ' ' around your variable parts in the Filter Query part of the action. Needs to be in single quotes (could be double can't remember) it's throwing off the query format.

I changed it to a single line text then in Power Apps changed it to allowed values.
