Delegation warning - data not showing up in gallery

Hello,

I have 1 dropdown and 2 galleries. Based on the item selected in the dropdown, Gallery 1 shows 1-to-many items.

I have a checkbox next to each item with the OnCheck logic - Collect(selectedRegs, ThisItem.ID).

For gallery 2,  the Items property is set to Filter('LARGE_DB_TABLE', REG_ID in selectedRegs, NAME)

When I run a similar query directly against the DB it returns the results fast, but in PowerApps gallery 2 never populates and it warns me about Delegation not working properly on this large data set. Is there any workaround? I tried looking into article around "With" command but it was not fully clear in this use case.

Hello, @glowerpower, One thing I can think of that you mentioned the With function is to group the names in your larg table together: 

With(
    {
        tempTable: AddColumns(
            GroupBy(
                'LARGE_DB_TABLE',
                "REG_ID",
                "GroupedData"
            ),
            "Name", First(First(GroupedData).NAME)
        )
    },
    ClearCollect(
        Gallery2Data,
        Filter(
            tempTable,
            REG_ID in selectedRegs
        )
    )
)

Then, use another collection for Gallery 2.Items : Gallery2Data

try this as the second gallery items

ForAll(selectedRegs As recordLoop, LookUp('LARGE_DB_TABLE',REG_ID=recordLoop.Value))

then just make one control inthe gallery and have it set to ThisItem.NAME

@TheRobRush I just realized while I am no longer getting the delegation warning, only one record is being returned in gallery2 instead of multiple. For example, one REG_ID can have multiple children in Gallery2 but with the provided formula, only the first record is returned in gallery2. If I change the formula to REG_ID in [recordLoop] it goes back to the same original problem with delegation and no data returned.

Apologies did not realize it would have more than 1 result. With their being multiple strings/vars being searched for at same time it's going to be quite a bit more complicated, but I just got it working like this on my side

I put htis on a + icon, you can change it to a checkbox if wanted, and just chaneg the switch to be two seperate formuals that run in the oncheck and uncheck of the checkbox. on a + icon it looks like so

now in my gallery 2 i place this in the items

Ungroup(comboRecords,"Value")

This should, via filtering and combining results, allow you to make multiple searches for multiple record results in a single action without delegation
