DirectReports and all their DirectReports?

Hm. Not sure how to do this. I need a collection of all Managers DirectReports and their DirectReports.

I tried:

ClearCollect(
    colTeam,
    Office365Users.DirectReports("bigBoss@company.com")
)

Then:

ForAll(
    colTeam,
    Office365Users.DirectReports(Email)
)

But it errors out with:

Error Code 404.

Thoughts on how to get all these folks in a single collection?

Thank you!

Hi @ericonline,

Could you please share a bit more about the error message within your app?

Do you want to save all DirectReports of a specific manager and all their DirectReports (the DirectReports of corresponding DirectReports) into one Collection?

I have made a test on my side, and don't have the issue that you mentioned. Please take a try with the following workaround:5.JPG

Set the OnSelect property of the "Collect" button to following:

ClearCollect(colTeam,Office365Users.DirectReports("Michael@xxxxxx.onmicrosoft.com"));
ForAll(colTeam,Collect(colTeam2,Office365Users.DirectReports(Mail)));
Collect(colTeam,colTeam2)

On your side, you should type the following:

ClearCollect(colTeam,Office365Users.DirectReports("bigBoss@company.com"));
ForAll(
colTeam,
Collect(colTeam2,Office365Users.DirectReports(Mail)) /* <-- Put Mail rather than Email here */
); Collect(colTeam,colTeam2)

Best regards,

Kris

Hi @ericonline

The following should give you want you want:

Step1:

ClearCollect(
    colTeam,
    Office365Users.DirectReports(User().Email)
)

Step2:

ForAll(
    colTeam,
    Collect(
        colTeamCascading,
        Office365Users.DirectReports(colTeam[@Mail])
))

Please note that in your example, the column that is returned by the direct reports api for the mail address is 'Mail' and not 'Email'.

On the ForAll, you need to write the data to a second collection. (It can't be the same collection that the ForAll is triggered on). It is also a good idea to disambiquate the Mail column by specifying 'colTeam[@Mail]' so that the function doesn't get confused between which mail column you are referring to as it is triggering in context of two collections.

I have also attached the app, let me know if you don't come right.

Thanks for the detailed reply @DavesTechTips. I used @v-xida-msft's solution because I needed the Direct Reports of my Manager (not User()) and the Direct Reports of everyone working for him.

Will you talk a bit more about your use of "[@mail]"? I have never understood when to use "disambiguation" like this.

Take care and chat soon!

I tried to do the same but getting an error, please help

Is Colteam a sharepoint list?

When the button is clicked where does it save the information

ClearCollect(colTeam,Office365Users.DirectReports("bigBoss@company.com"));
ForAll(
colTeam,
Collect(colTeam2,Office365Users.DirectReports(Mail)) /* <-- Put Mail rather than Email here */
); Collect(colTeam,colTeam2)

Colteam is a collection created on the fly in the above code.

First the data in this collection is "Office365Users.DirectReports("bigBoss@company.com")"

Then colTeam2 data is also appended to Colteam which is InDirect Reports of the the immediate reportee's. Hope this helps!
