Display an APP version number

Hi All,

I have been having an issue recently where it seem to take a few minutes for my published app to actually show up properly.

Example:

I customize a form, and I have to refresh my browser many times to get the correct version.  I started putting my own version number on the main screen, but if i forget I am not sure what version is actually published.  I started putting a number on the fields I update to make sure that I am seeing the latest.

My PowerApps APP on my phone takes a few minutes at times to finally refresh and tell me my app has a new update.

A version number would help to make sure I am testing the latest version, instead of trying to figure out why my change did not take effect.

Thanks, but I stopped trying 2 years ago and chalked it up to one other thing not easily available.

Is that a premium connection, or is it a comes with?

So this only pulls the number of versions of that app that have been published, is there a way to pull the total number of saves? For example, I am working with SAVE version 634 of my app, but the code provided outputs "100" because I have only fully published the app 100 times (I figured this out with date stamps and much headache). Is there a way to show the exact save number?

UPDATE: I was looking through the other pages and realized someone had already answered this, the versioning stops at 100. If someone only has 100 versions of their app, either they don't save or they don't push out updates, and I don't know which scares me more. Definitely a functionality that should be improved.

How about the Power Apps Release or Authorizing version?

You could use that; the only issue is, at least for my purposes, I want the app to be able to see what publish it is on. For example, if I publish version 20 of the app, I want to be able to go onto a user's device and see if they have been updated to version 20, or if they are still on version 15 (the last published version). The release version doesn't change with saves or publishing changes done to the app, so it is just a bit different than what I need. I got around this by having a label that I manually update; and when I do, it sends the number as the "publish version" to a list I call App Versions, where I store the app name and "version" for all my apps. It's clunky, but it works better than nothing, and I have been able to solve 90% of my users' issues a lot quicker with it.

For today I tried this and it works :

First(PowerAppsforMakers.GetAppVersions("YOUR APLICATION ID").value).properties.appDefinition.tags.publisherVersion

There`s a lot of post talking about this, but finally this is the only way I found that It works actually.

So unfortunately this only kind of works, depending on what you are trying to accomplish. What I was trying to find is what publish version a user is on or what saved version they are on. For example, if I just published the 5th publish of the app, I want to see if the user is still running on publish 4; likewise, if I published save number 350, I want to see if the user is still running on save 349. The publisher version doesn't update every time the app is saved, or even every time the app is published; also, it is referencing the app directly and not the instance that a user is running.

100% this.  It doesn't really matter what the latest version "is". It matters what version they're running.  So if you're using some function to look up the last version, it's not always going to be right. I've had people refresh the app 10-15 minutes after publishing and it still gives them an outdated version. No idea how that even happens.

I've reverted to doing this the most old-school way - just a text box with the version.  Only sucky part is remembering to update it before publishing. I don't think there's really any other way.
