Hello all,
I am trying to edit\view some date from a gallery that pulls data from a data source (share point List). I normally use the a gallery to pull my data and then use a view form to view more info about a job task. From this view form I can click a edit button and make changes. So far this has been working great but we keep adding more data cards to the form and its getting messy. I was wondering what people do to handle a lot of data on a form. One of the draw backs when using forms is not being able to drag and drop the data cards where I Please. Is there a work around for this?
Some quick questions I have
1. Do you create pop out windows and separate forums to handle more data that can fit on a screen?
2. Do I even need a form? Can I just Create a bank screen and just had labels and text input fields and then some how patch it?
3. I have been playing around with adding Multiple controls to a data card. This works on view data but I cant seem to save it.
I plan on making this APP usable for phones so I have limited space.
Any advice would be great
Thanks,
GA

Hi @legion1202 ,
Do you want to use Edit form to handle multiple data cards?
Based on the issue that you mentioned, as an fixed solution, you could consider split your SP List fields into multiple Edit forms, then enable corresponding data cards in each Edit form. When you want to save form data back to your SP List, you could save multiple form data form into single one record in your SP List once time using Patch function.
Please check and see if the following threads would help in your scenario:
On your side, you need to create multiple Edit forms in each separated screen (One Edit form in one screen), connect these Edit forms to same SP List data source. Between these multiple form screens, you need to add a "Next" button in each screen (except for the last one), set the OnSelect property to following:
Navigate(NextScreen) // Please replace the NextScreen with actual screen name
Set the OnSelect property of the "+" button (click it to add new entry) to following:
NewForm(EditForm1);
NewForm(EditForm2);
NewForm(EditForm3);
...;
Navigate(EditScreen1)
in the last Edit form screen, add a "Submit" button, set the OnSelect property to following:
If(
EditForm1.Mode = FormMode.New && EditForm2.Mode = FormMode.New && EditForm3.Mode = FormMode.New && ......,
Patch(
'Your SP List',
Defaults('Your SP List'),
EditForm1.Updates,
EditForm2.Updates,
EditForm3.Updates,
...
),
Patch(
'Your SP List',
LookUp('Your SP List', ID = BrowseGallery1.Selected.ID),
EditForm1.Updates,
EditForm2.Updates,
EditForm3.Updates,
...
)
)
In addition, I think the "Tab Forms" functionality could also achieve your needs. Please check and see if the following video resource could help in your scenario:

Best regards,
You can use Tabbed forms to divide the form.

Another workaround if you are to use same form is to reduce the height of the DatacardValues (Example 30), this will have an overall impact on the screen
To view data as you have said, the best approach is to use the Gallery

Best regards,
Thanks guys for the quick replies.
I have another quick question. Once a created a galley for my tab form I can get everything to save using a submit form button. The only issue Is the following.
After I hit the submit button I get brought back to my gallery that lists all my data from a share point list. This is fine... However if I click on another item of the gallery I get brought to the form but I am on my save button.
In my tab gallery I have General, Time, Job Summary and Submit...
I would like to default the the general tab when entering this screen.
Thanks,
Greg
