I'm discovering the nuances of Sharepoint lists vs Dataverse table. For some reason, this code (when fixed to account for differences), doesnt return any values in the drop down menu when using Dataverse table, but it does in Sharepoint. I can see that the code returns the correct values in both instances, but the drop down menu is just empty when using Dataverse.
Any ideas?
I also tried this to no avail.
You don't need to use that formula to get the dropdown items.
You can simply select column from the dropdown.
Choices('Account Type (Accounts)')
//Accounts is the table and Account Type is a optionset in Dataverse

"A DEVICE" in Dataverse is a multichoice field
I want to filter the list based on the previous drop down menu to show only relevant records instead of everything.
What are the two dropdowns and how should they work? If you describe this one, then we can find a solution on how to build this in power apps.

The first dropdown is just a simple Choices() like your example.
Choices('DT - SFP - Compatibilities'.'A DEVICE')
The second dropdown is to select "B DEVICE" but, filters the results based on the choice made for "A DEVICE".
This functions as expected using Sharepoint.
What is the relation between first dropdown and second dropdown? There has to be a relation or something that can be used to filter the list down to the required choices. Please advise.

What do you mean by relation? This is the Dataverse table in question. Sharepoint is the same configuration. (The table will have more data and devices in the end, this is just some test data)
The option set in SharePoint and Dataverse work differently.
SharePoint works on the basis of the records that you have provided. On contrary, dataverse depends on the column configuration.
If the option set label contains a text or value that batches the other option set label, you can try filtering it on that basis.

We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities. Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”) - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024 Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.
