Dynamically adjust template width in a gallery

Hi, I have a horizontal gallery with text labels. The gallery's items property is a collection - colButtons.

The text label Text property is ThisItem.Value

It looks like:

Note that each text label is a fixed width.

The desired outcome is a text label based on the length of the text in the label.

I was almost able to achieve this requirement (each text label still has inconsistent padding, but it is close enough) by adding this formula to the text labels width property:

((Self.Size+(0.35277777777778*Self.Size))*Len(Self.Text))-((0.35277777777778*Len(Self.Text))*(Len(Self.Text)))

Now it looks like:

But now the spacing between labels is not consistent and I cannot seem to find a way to make this spacing the same.

If I manually adjust the Template size the gap either gets proportionally bigger or smaller.

I was trying to make the TemplateSize dynamic based on the length of the Text value in each "cell" of the horizontal gallery plus the desired amount of space between labels , but couldn't reference the corresponding text length.

I do not want to hard code 4 buttons and manually place them.

Any thoughts on how to get the same spacing between text labels dynamically?

Hi @Mombo ,

You can do it in a Flexible Height Vertical Gallery with Text Labels with AutoHeight set to true, however in a Horizontal gallery, the Template size unfortunately is the same for all items in it.

I too have the same requirement, I am using a horizontal blank gallery and need to show data with different width, If I use vertical flexible height gallery then my data wont come horizontally. Is there any way to make the horizontal gallery width dynamic?

Same answer as below - the only variable Template size is Height in a Flexible Height gallery.

Yes - the Width of the gallery itself can be dynamic and you could have the TemplateWidth as a factor (division) of this, but this width would be the same for all sections.
