Hello have a form that contains 12 combo boxes and 12 text boxes.
It looks like the below: I am referring to the Qty and Desc fields, not the three fields up top.
I have an edit form which allows users to edit entries created by this form. It looks nearly identical.
When the edit form is submitted, it will incorrectly delete any data in the combo boxes that are not altered.
For example, if there is data in Qty 1, Desc 1, Qty 2, and Desc 2 - a user edits only Desc 2 - the data in Desc will be deleted.
any help is appreciated.
thank you.
I cannot figure out why.

@SamE ,
Based on what you have posted and assuming this is a single select combo box displaying the field 'Item Description' that is correct. Put this on a Label and see if you get the expected value
LookUp(
'Items for Bundle List',
'EIS Number' = ScanVar1.Value
).'Item Description'
Hi @SamE ,
What is the DataSource and Item of your Form and what is the full code (in Text please) you use when submitting the Form. Also what is the DefaultSelectedItems of your Combo Box (just use Desc1) and the Update of the Data Card.
Thanks for the response Warren -
DataSource is a Sharepoint List for both forms.
In your response, when you refer to "the form" I'm not sure if you're referring to the Edit form or the original New Item Form. So I've provided the details for both below.
The New item form is titled Create Bundle
The Edit item form is called Edit Bundle
Create Bundle Information
The Item for the Create Bundle form is
Gallery2.Selected
(Does the item attribute matter on a New item form?)
The Create Bundle form is submitted by selecting a "Create" button.
The OnSelect attribute for that button is:
SubmitForm(Form4)
For the Desc1 Combo Box, the DefaultSelectedItems is:
LookUp('Items for Bundle List',ScanVar1.Value='EIS Number')
For the Desc1 Data Card, the Update is:
ComboBox3.Selected.'Item Description'
-----------------
Edit Bundle Information
Gallery2.Selected
Gallery2 is a gallery located on the side of the New Form.
When submitting the Edit form there is a "Save Changes" button.
The code for the OnSelect property of that button is simply:
SubmitForm(Form4_1)
On the Edit Bundle form the Desc1 Combo box, the DefaultSelectedItems is:
{Value: ThisItem.'Desc 1'}
For the Desc1 Data Card, the Update attribute is:
ComboBox3_2.Selected.'Item Description'
Thanks for taking a crack at this. Seems like you're a busy man on this site.
Hi @SamE ,
The first thing to fix is your DefaultSelectedItems - first one should be (use field to be displayed)
{
'Item Description':
LookUp(
'Items for Bundle List',
'EIS Number' = ScanVar1.Value
).YourFieldName
}
and the second one (assuming Desc1 is a Single Line of Text field)
{'Item Description': ThisItem.'Desc 1'}

Hi @WarrenBelz
Thank you for your help thus far.
Yes, Desc 1 is a single line of text field
Still running into an issue. The Edit form is not showing whatever I saved in Desc 1.
Can you please clarify what you mean by "Use field to be displayed"?
I understand that I need to replace the YourFieldName placeholder, but I'm not sure with what to replace it.
I tried 'item description' as that is the field from the lookup data that I want displayed, however when saving an entry and going to the edit form, the combo box for Desc 1 is blank. See examples below.

Edit Form
Hi @SamE ,
You are using
LookUp(
'Items for Bundle List',
'EIS Number' = ScanVar1.Value
)
which produces a Record and then displaying one field from that record in 'Items for Bundle List' as the choice in your combo box. That is the field name you need. If you select the Combo Box and then Edit in the right panel, it will show you the name in the top drop-down Primary Text.

Hi @WarrenBelz
By your definition, I should be using 'Item Description' as the field.
Therefore the DefaultSelectedItems for the Create Bundle form should be
{
'Item Description':
LookUp(
'Items for Bundle List',
'EIS Number' = ScanVar1.Value
).'Item Description'
}
However whatever Item I save in Desc 1 is not appearing when I open the Edit Bundle Form, as pictured in my prior post.

Hi @WarrenBelz
The Create Form seems to be working fine now, however the combo box in the Edit Form is still not showing the data from the record.
The Qty 1 field is showing the correct quantity, but the Desc 1 combo box is blank.
@WarrenBelz I believe I've got the edit form working.
For the edit combo boxes, I've changed DefaultSelectedItems to
LookUp('Items for Bundle List',ThisItem.'Desc 1' = 'Item Description')
I feel like using a lookup probably isn't the most efficient way to do this, but it is working.
